I Review The Things –
Big and sturdy with a few little flaws!
So far this scratching post has been a big hit in my house, at least for the scratching element! It was pretty easy to assemble and came with the tools you need, but at least for me I did have to sand a few holes to get things screwed in. The post is a good size for adult kitties and is bottom heavy enough that it hasn’t had issues with it tipping. Mine are pretty uninterested on the toys, but my cats are a bit older! My biggest issue is that the rope on the bottom scratching post is pretty loose (or too soft?) and my cats have been getting their claws stuck in it. I’m thinking of fixing it with some glue but it would be ideal if it was designed better. Also as others have said threading the rope with the ball isn’t easy so they could make cap those off with some wax or whatever.Oh, and in a surprise to no one, they immediately loved the box before even trying their new toy!Overall it’s a good post but needs a bit more to make it purrfect!

Cat scratcher
Very nice. I wasn’t able to put together completely but put together except one piece & it works just fine. Well made & I like

Would like better QC
I would say overall item is very nice and the cats really enjoyed the feather springs and the rotating balls.BUT the biggest issue is during assembly alot of the hole that are drilled for assembly are not fully completed making it a bit of a pain to assemble with the supplied toolset. I had to punch out 80% of the holes myself as they were fully completed.Other than that I would like to see some finishing thoughts put to the strings for the hanging balls as they are very loose twine that I had to tape together to get hung.I think generally this is a nice kit especially compared to what you pay at box stores, would just like to see some higher QC.

Poorly planned assembly
I was excited to receive this. It looked like it would be great however, you will have to have your own hardware to assemble it. It’s an easy assemble, but none of the bolts are anywhere near long enough. They don’t even fit so the bottom piece cannot be fastened together nor to the upper piece and it stacks so the long bolt that would connect the post the actual post to the base is probably 3 inches too short and even when you take off one plate. So it connects it is so loose and then when you pick it up all the bottom plates fall off because nothing screws them together. The four small screws to bolt them down won’t even reach halfway to the bottom Very sad because this looks so strong and it’s the least sturdiest post I’ve ever purchased returned the same day I got it

Fun but flawed
This tall cat scratching post is a nice scratcher but could have used a little bit of quality control. The wood is solid but the finish is rough, some of the holes were not adequately drilled, instructions were so-so. The sisal is a cheap kind and I’m not sure how long it will hold up. Once it got together – the cats like it – it is stable and not apt to tip over. The height lets them streeeeeetch out nicely. The balls on the bottom are a nice distraction. It’s a nice little scratcher but could be better quality.

My cat loves this post!
I’ll start by saying that my cat normally does not like to play with toys. And he generally prefers to scratch rugs instead of dedicated scratching posts. Believe me, I’ve tried many many products. This one however, he actually enjoys and actually uses. He absolutely loves the little balls that revolver on the base and will spend 30 minutes chasing them around while he’s there, pausing to scratch on the post frequently. It’s very tall so he can stretch almost entirely out while scratching, which seems to be his preference. It’s made of solid wood, and the quality is really nice compared to others which are generally made out of particleboard or even cardboard. This one took about five minutes to unpack and build the instructions were very clear and the components seem to be of a high-quality he’s had it for about a month now and he has so far not destroyed it which is generally not the case for the price. It’s a great value of considering how well it’s made. I’m hoping it will last him a while and when it does meet, it’s and we’ll be getting another.

My cats’ favorite new toy
My cats’ new favorite toy! Assembly is easy, and I like that the wood is unfinished, so it can be painted or finished to match my decor. The cats were playing with the toys while I was putting the scratching post together, which did make assembly slightly more difficult. My 10 yr old helped with assembly and was able to do everything except put the feather springy things securely into the suction cups. As soon as it was finished, though, the cats went to town. The only improvements I’d make: finish the ends of the sisal rope on the balls to make them easier to thread through the top wood piece, and make the sisal balls more sturdy. The sisal is actually glued onto styrofoam balls, and one started unraveling when I pulled to make sure the knot would hold in the top. Other than that, I think the cats with have lots of time to play and use this scratching post.

Great post but there are some flaws…
I debated between 3 and 4 stars for this cat post. I ended up giving it 4 because my cats love it so much and I really like how tall it is and how wide the bottom scratcher is. Here’s why I was going to give it a 3 star rating- one of the holes on the wooden part on the base wasn’t drilled all the way through so I had to get out my drill and completely the hole. It was easy so I probably could have punched through it with a screwdriver. The other problem is the rope is very hard to get through the top part because it unravels. I ended up pushing it through with a small screwdriver. The last problem I had was the ball fell apart when I slightly pulled on it to make sure the knot I made at the top was tight. So I had to throw that part away.Other than those things it is a great scratching post and seems durable, other than the feathers which my cats destroyed right away. I cut the bells off of the feathers to make sure they didn’t swallow them while they were destroying the feathers. I think it’s priced well since it is a very large scratching post. Overall I wish I could give it a 3.5 rating.
