How to lock/unlock:If you want to lock it at a certain distance, you simply push the button down and pull back just a bit, and the leash will lock. If you want to just stop the dog for a second, you simply push the button to stop the retractable feature.If you want to unlock it, push the big button forward.
Troubleshooting
1.After receiving the product, please carefully check if there are any damages during the transportation process.
2. Make sure that your dog’s weight does not exceed the capacity of the leash. No more than 50 pounds.
3. If the rope cannot be retracted during use, you need to check if it is jammed. If it gets stuck, you can try pulling out a section of the rope and then retract it.
4. Please note. Do not fully release the rope. Especially when the dog rushes forward, the strong pulling force will damage the spring and the internal structure, and you need to stop it in time.
5. Do not let the dog bite the rope. Even if the rope is slightly damaged, it is prone to break.
6. Do not pull the rope with your hands.

Amazing dog leash at a great price. Smooth working. Comfortable grip. Will buy again if needed.

Hefty feel and good quality all around.
I like the heft & feel of this retractable leash. Smooth mechanism and locks in place with ease. The latching mechanism for your dogs collar is also of better quality of some others I have tried. I like it and would buy again. If it wears out before a year will update this review. I did not get paid for this review nor receive the leash as a freebie. This is my honest review.

One out of two leashes broke after a short while—good customer service.
We got two of these leashes and within a month or so, one of them broke. The fabric part completely ripped from the handle. I started a replacement return, and the company immediately started the process of sending me a new one before having received the broken one back. I appreciate that. Hopefully this new one will be more durable and it was just a fluke. My dog does pull very hard when she sees other dogs. Otherwise, I like these leashes. They’re long and they don’t have the stopper than most similar leashes have so you can really rein in the dog if they tend to be runners.

This button for retracting sometimes sticks. It takes a bit to get used to. But for the price, what do you expect. I am happy with the purchase because it functions great these past 3 months for our daily walks. Easy. Controls dog. Still works.

Great leash for small dogs
Leash retracts very smoothly and quickly without pulling too hard on my small dog and has yet to get tangled. Feels solid for the size and weight, and comfortable to hold even with my large hands. Would have preferred a lock button instead of a lock slider, otherwise no complaints. Great value for the cost.

Hook is strudy compared to other smaller hooks seem in previous harnesses.
Dog leash is smooth and well built. It has a comparatively larger hook than other mfgs which I liked. Sturdy and works smoothly on our small dog.
