My large dog stayed still and although I’m sure he didn’t like my grinding his nails he wasn’t scared. He doesn’t like noises grinders, shears, etc make but this on didn’t bother him at all! A great relief!

This worked really well on my miniature dachshund! She was a little frightened of it because it wasn’t “silent” as stated in the video or description. It was actually pretty loud to like any normal grinder, but it did the job we needed it to do!

A small dog nail trimmer
The nail trimmer might work fine on a Yorkie or a cat (no, a cat would lose its mind), but I’m back to using a Dremmel with a sanding drum on my Great Dane/St Bernard cross. I have better luck with my Weim, but the attachment has a very fine grind, and it takes forever to make much progress. She gets super fidgety because it’s so slow. And it’s not silent, more quiet and higher pitched than the Dremel though! The flashlight is super handy. It’s probably only best for small dog nails.

Silent Groom Pro Nail Grinder
Through a progressive process, I introduced the grinder to my pet by first allowing it to explore it while it was turned off and then turning it on momentarily at a distance so that the sound might become familiar to them. My pet did not run away or hide since the noise level was low enough, which allowed me to maintain a calm and collected demeanor during the whole experience. In the end, I only managed to touch it to a handful of nails before I decided to halt the session while everyone was still in a peaceful state of mind. This strategy was important since it suggested that this was a brief routine and not a lengthy period of constraint, and it made the subsequent effort simpler to carry out. The three-speed settings were the function that I used the most after the tool was no longer a surprise to me. At the lowest pace, it was possible to make little tweaks while maintaining a great deal of control, which made it an excellent choice for boosting confidence and doing minor touch-ups. Because it did a good job of smoothing rough edges without making me feel hurried, the intermediate pace became my default for doing weekly maintenance. In order to keep the session going, particularly as my patience began to wane, I utilized the greatest speed in brief bursts that I could find for larger nails. Because I had those alternatives, I was able to adjust the pace to correspond with the animal in front of me, rather than being forced to use a single speed for every circumstance. Even with strong overhead illumination, there are angles where it is difficult to see precisely where you are working, particularly when a paw slips slightly. I like to groom my dog in the evening since it is the most convenient time for me. The additional light made it simpler to concentrate on the nail tip and to stop in a manner that was constant across all of the nails. This resulted in an increase in my self-assurance, and hands that are more steady often result in fewer hesitating pauses, which may make a pet concerned.
