Excellent choice for training
I adopted a 1 year old Labrador retriever a couple months ago. Wonderful dog, but with no training whatsoever. I’ve been using this whistle to train her recall, and it has been highly effective. I used the other Acme whistle, a 210 (different shape) with my other lab, and it worked well too, but this whistle is noticeably louder and definitely gets this Lab’s attention. Pitch is consistent regardless of how loudly you blow.

I thought I was purchasing a dog whistle for training that was a silent or whistle that only my puppy would hear. Not correct it is a loud whistle. It works as it startles the puppy.

My initial review was a one star because I was already being asked for a review and my order was delayed. Frustration got the better of me. I received my whistle today and I love it. It is loud and my dog is already adjusting to the new sound after some training with another whistle. I would recommend this product. Thank you.

Very Quiet
This is a terrible whistle. It’s way too quiet to do any dog training with. You have to use an excessive amount of force to get any type of discernible noise out of it.
My Two Cents –
All the other dog owners want one
We’ve bought 4 of these now – one for each car, one for back door, one for front door. Our dog was a shelter dog – found as a stray, adopted, returned for having “too much energy,” the n adopted by us. Yes, high energy, crazy prey drive. We tried all the Cesar Milan tricks on trying to settle him, and finally got this whistle. Helped that he is really afraid of high pitched sounds. One tweet and he is at our side Only use it in “I really need you to stop that behavior now” circumstances, and it works! Dogs in the park getting a little too aggressive with each other – one blow and they all are scattering. We hoped to use it for commands, but since it works so well for us as a deterrant to bad behavior, that’s what we save it for. Our dog is finally able to walk off-leash because we have the security of this whistle. We’ve had to make up flyers for this whistle because again, everyone wants one for their pet! Don’t over use it – don’t make it a torture device. But when you want to reinforce “NO!” this is a go to.

I bought this whistle to recall my dog when we go for hikes into the woods. It works great, my dog hears it from very far away. The whistle has a very loud noise without being annoying. It’s very small and light. It’s easy to carry on your keychain or hooked on your coat’s zipper. I personally already had a necklace made to hook a whistle on it. I love it, would definitely recommend for dog recall.
