Customer Review –
I read that excessive hairballs or trouble with hairballs being brought up can be caused by digestive issues. Hairballs should usually be passed out as poop, but if there’s digestive trouble, they can get stuck and need to be vomited up, which is very unpleasant for the cat.I wanted to try something natural to help my two kitties, who have had some hairball issues. They are both long-haired breeds (Ragdolls). I try to groom them regularly, which also helps prevent hairballs, but it still happens. These treats seemed like a good option. They have a good mix of ingredients to support digestion, skin and coats.Ingredients: I’m happy that these are all-natural ingredients that are safe for cats. The active ingredients are:Psyllium Husk – a natural fibre that helps with digestion. It can help move hairballs through the gut.Chicory root – a prebioticFlaxseed oil – aids digestion (fibre) and has Omega-6Fish Oil – which contains Omega-3FOS – prebiotics and probiotics, which help with gut flora and digestion.Papain – a digestive enzyme from papayas. Zinc – supports the immune systemBiotin – supports skin and coatsThe extra ingredients that make up the chew are all natural, too. No grains or soy, which can trigger sensitive tummies. The main bulking agent is rice flour and potato starch. It has chicken powder, natural chicken flavour and an egg yolk and krill centre.Texture and smell: These treats are similar to Dreamies. My cats like them just as much as Dreamies. There’s a slight meaty smell, kind of like a stock cube. It’s not unpleasant for me, and my cats like it.Palatability: My cats will eat these chews just like a regular treat.Packaging: These treats come in a plastic tub that seals tightly.Side effects: None. My cats were able to eat this every day without issue.Effectiveness: These treats won’t give overnight results, but are a great overall supplement to support digestive health and wellness.I have seen a positive effect on their digestion in just a week of use.The feeding guide is 1 treat per 1lb of body weight. For my cats’ weight, they each get 9 treats per day. So, a tub will last about 2 months for a 9lb cat.I think they are good value and have some really good ingredients, so I’m happy with them.

These crunchy Carmelie chicken and krill-flavoured chews are made from natural ingredients and contain no artificial colours or preservatives, and our cats love them. Among the active ingredients are psyllium husk, chickory root and pumpkin powder. They are marketed for hairballs (or furballs, as I call them) and digestion. All cat owners will be familiar with these, which are caused by cats swallowing loose hair while grooming. While this is not uncommon, excessive furballs may indicate overgrooming or intestinal blockages. Obviously, one of the best ways to help prevent this is to brush your cat’s coat regularly to remove loose hair. Nonetheless, this won’t stop furballs entirely, and one of the reasons I selected these chews is that they contain psyllium husk, which helps with constipation and bowel movements. Just ensure your cats have access to plenty of water as well.Although I have four cats in total, I ordered this product primarily for my long-haired cat. However, since these chews are also suitable for indoor cats, it tends to be a free-for-all when treats come out in our household. It’s too early to tell whether these chews are having a positive effect, particularly since my cats tend to bring up their furballs in hard-to-reach places. There are 500 chews in the tub, available only in chicken and krill flavours. The product is GMP certified, indicating it is manufactured to a high standard. Additionally, it is vet formulated and not genetically modified, which is a bonus. Although the chews also contain ingredients that improve a cat’s coat health, such as omega oils and biotin, I’m not convinced that this will prevent hair loss or overgrooming.

These cat hairball support chews come in a generous tub of 500 crunchy‑and‑creamy bites, all designed to help cats manage hairballs and support healthy digestion. The chicken and krill flavour combo clearly works – our two rescue cats made that very obvious. They’re quite the duo: one treats anything new with deep suspicion, while the other behaves as though every treat is a personal gift from the universe. Yet both of them took to these chews immediately. One loves the crunchy outer shell, the other goes straight for the creamy centre, but either way they’re happily munching without any persuasion. The bites are small, easy to portion, and perfect for daily use. The large tub also means you’re not constantly running out, and it offers good value compared to the smaller packs you usually see. The texture is light, the smell is mild, and they don’t crumble everywhere. They also double nicely as a distraction treat. The tub is priced at £19.99, which initially feels a little on the expensive side but considering you get 500 chews, it actually works out to be very good value, especially compared to the tiny packets you usually see. Overall, these chews are practical, good value, and – most importantly – cat approved. If you’re looking for an easy, fuss‑free way to support digestion and reduce hairballs, these are well worth trying.

A tub of 500 hairball chews which the cats seem to be fond of and the results seem to be pretty good too. These arrive pretty much exactly as you see them in the stock image. You’ll receive the tub (a very nice graphic tub I must add) wrapped in plastic and that’s it. Simple to open and to use. There are very good and clear instruction on the packaging regarding how many treats to give to your cat and the quantity is determined by your cat’s size and weight. Essentially the larger the cat the more treats they get (talk about an incentive to eat). The chicken and krill flavour has the cats excited as they both come running as soon as the bus is opened which is always the mark of a good product. They are more than happy to eat these and the taste is obviously one which they approve of. Results are food and there is a noticeable reduction is hairballs. My only complaint is that these are quite expensive and because I have 2 cats we fly through them pretty quickly. I don’t see it being something I can afford regularly and it works out cheaper to use hairball paste and still buy the cats regular treats at the same time… So although they are good and the cats love them i find it hard to justify on a regular basis.

Our cats love these.clearly it’s not on,y the taste but the smell too as they get them first out of their food bowls. Well packaged we’ve had chews from this company y before and they never disappoint. Love the clear instructions on the back to ensure you don’t over feed. These give reassurance for your cats health , digestion and especially with the always problematic fur balls even for short haired and are effective in that too. Great value and recommended.
