Stops the constant barking!
We have neighbors on both sides with crazy barking dogs. We have had enough! We tried a fog horn and only hurt our ears. So I ordered this and we are satisfied that it is doing the job. Not for all night, but it shuts them up for the afternoon so we can have peace and quiet. It’s easy and fits in my hand. Being orange, I can find it easily when needed. It holds up well and we might just get one for our kids (their dogs, not the kids, haha.)

It works for awhile but then it’s not as effective. Also if you have multiple pets they all get “zapped” not just the one misbehaving.

I should preface by saying that we bought this for neighbor’s dog, but the dog is literally about 5 feet from our window and separated by chain link fence.I originally bought one of automatic ones, but with so many mixed reviews, I decided to buy one that I could get same-day delivery with. I hadn’t really slept in 3 days, so I was desperate. I mean this giant Cane Corso barked non-stop for 15-min. sessions 6 to 7 times while we were sleeping right next to our bedroom window. It delivered around 4 PM, AND DELIVERED FULLY CHARGED. I may have just gotten lucky with it being charged. You can hear and feel the ultrasonic sounds, so I knew that it ‘worked’. The dog started barking right next to our window and I went to work immediately. I opened the window and used it and the dog seemed confused and looking on the ground trying to find out what it was. Held the button a little longer and it walked away to the other side of the yard and stopped. I did this two or three more times during the day. The dogs can still hear it on the other side of the yard, so they quickly learn to stay quiet even when they faintly hear the sound.Now, last night was the real test. I woke up twice at the sound of the dog barking (not ANYWHERE near as loud or long). I opened the window, flashed the button a few times, the dog once again walked over in curiosity, then I held the button on him and he walked to the other side of the yard and stayed quiet. Mind you, I had to wake up twice in the night to use it, but you’re training the dog. I noticed a reaction immediately, a change in the dog’s behavior immediately, and I was able to actually get some sleep. So, yes, this thing works.This device is super easy to use. There’s no setting up or anything. You turn on the device, use the top button for flashlight/ultrasonic, middle for ultrasonic, and the bottom button for just high-pitch frequencies for training. When you’re done, simply turn it off. That way it doesn’t drain the battery.

It WORKS!
We take our rescued German Shepherd 3 year-old dog on a daily walk in the woods. She wants to run and play during her walk, and we cannot do that due to age and medical issues. The answer came in this hand-held device and training treats. The first time we used the device – and only on the middle setting – we were able to take her for the mile-long walk off lead! Amazing! After just a quick press of that middle button, she stops and I call her using the “Come” command and she is right there. I then give her a treat for heeding the command. Absolutely wonderful. This device does not hurt her at all, it simply stops her from running too far away and helps train her to commands. As a side note, she is working like she should without yelling at her or any negativity on our end. Great device.

It quiets even the most hard headed of dogs!!
This thing works!! Maybe in some ways too much. My female dog hauls ass the minute she sees it bc the sound it makes bothers her so much. The male dogs seem to be a little more impervious to it, however they will stop barking very quickly when I use this. I try not to use it if I can avoid it, but when you have three young dogs that are not listening it comes in handy and straightens their butts right up.

Works Maybe 50% of the Time
I’m not sure how to fairly review this as all dogs are different. I’m calling it average though, as it only seems to work some of the time. (As in maybe 1/2 the time.) For us, that’s actually pretty good as our dog just isn’t good about barking at passing walkers, etc. She’s generally compliant and well behaved, but when we have people passing by yard she just goes nuts sometimes. This definitely gets her attention, but on occasion she’ll just ignore it.So again, I have to call it average. I was hoping I could use it to really train her to control herself in certain situations. But so far that’s not really working out. Still, will keep trying as it does seem to work at least some of the time. (This review is after a few months trying this out.)
