Well-made, convenient, quiet, and effective
This fountain is compact, well-designed, quiet, and convenient. I bought it for my ancient kitty to encourage her to drink more, and it absolutely does that. The assembly is easy to put together and instructions are clear. Being cordless is such a nice feature and the battery seems to last a long time (on motion detection mode). My only regret is not getting it sooner!

DowneyPaws Stands Behind Their Great Product
I bought this because it was rechargeable and I could keep it in the shower to prevent the Bengal cat from splashing water on my floor. It has worked perfectly for over a year. Then the last time I charged it, no water would come out. (A very distraught cat!).I contacted DownyPaws through Amazon, receiving an immediate replay. They offered a Fix, and it worked, easy as can be. Water is flowing the cats are relieved.Wondered customer service to a great product!!!Highly recommend this quiet, easy clean, and reliable cat waterer.

Easy to set up
I was looking for a cordless fountain for my daughters room. She has room for a fountain, but not near an outlet. Anyway, I saw this one and decided to give it a try, the price was affordable and it was easy to set up. Charge the outflow part of the fountain before adding water to the bowl, let the filter sit in clean water for about five minutes before putting it in, and you’re all set. It has a button on top of the battery pack/fountain outflow and you can have steady stream or motion activated. We opted for the latter as it saves battery power. It’s fairly quiet, and the cat loves it. It was well worth the money. Be sure you order extra filters and sponges if you get one, it only comes with one of each, and needs to be changed every 2 – 4 weeks.

cats love it, lasted 1 year and stopped working
my cats are obsessed. I love the sensor idea, way better than one that’s always flowing and always needs refilled. this lasts about a week with 2 very thirsty cats. I love the simple cube shape and slightly transparent water bowl part. it is not noisy at all! you can only hear it flow when it’s ready to be refilled because it can’t flow smoothly. unfortunately, however, it has not lasted long, about a year. it doesn’t charge, reset, or work anymore. upsetting given I paid $50+ for it. it was great while it lasted!

Water fountain, or water theme park!! Yeah, UHUH!
I purchased this in August of 2024 and set it up for my cat within a few days of receiving it. It took the better part of 4-5 weeks-ish for my cat to warm up to it and start drinking ‘regularly’ from it. (I only have a single 10yo male tabby).Originally I had set the fountain to the timer mode (turns on like every 20 minutes for 30 seconds, or vice/versa, something like that), but shortly after we committed to using it and only it, I set it to motion activated.Battery life:There are two things that drastically affect the battery life. First, please keep in mind that every cat, and their diet, is different, and this is very important because wet food vs dry foot makes a huge difference in how much water a cat is going to drink, which then impacts how many trips to the water bowl they’ll make… and the more they visit it, the more the motion sensor turns it on, thus the faster the battery will drain!My cat is on a “urinary tract health” diet, so it’s wet canned cat food specifically to help keep him hydrated (he had a blockage a couple year ago), as such he does not need to drink as much water as a cat that eats dry cat food (for example).The second thing that affects the battery life is if it’s on motion activated or timer. If motion activated, it’ll drain quicker, especially if the fountain is in a high traffic/common area that sees a lot of motion, like a kitchen or bathroom. Keep that in mind! (Read my first of two complaints below).***This being said, the battery usually lasts us about 3 weeks per charge, give or take a few days.***Cleaning:It’s considerably easy to take apart and clean, just don’t be lazy about it and you won’t make extra work for yourself the next time you have to clean it! Keep it clean and it should last a while.-> FYI, THE BATTERY PACK IS NOT MEANT TO GET WET!!!To help make cleaning easier, I take everything apart and put it all in one side of the sink, minus the battery pack… I start with that. Take the little scrubby brush that comes with this, get it wet, put a drop of soap on it, and plunge that sucker in and out a few times from the bottom of the battery pack, and from the front a few times. TO RINSE the battery pack out, provided you didn’t get the whole thing wet… simply connect it to the fountain, submerge the pump in clean water, turn it on, and let it rinse ~itself~ out! No need to try to turn your faucet on ~just right~ so you can try to aim that tiny stream of water into one end of the battery pack to rinse it out, hoping to not get anything else wet…. like the two holes where the battery connectors are, or the top where the power button is. The battery pack IS NOT water proof.Moving on, set the battery to the side, wash the reservoir with luke warm water, NOT HOT water, warm… run it too hot and you can ruin the anti-microbial coating they put on the inside of this thing. Also, DO NOT USE ANYTHING ABRASIVE to clean anything plastic! Not even those “scratch-free” dish wand sponge thingamabobs! SOS pads and scotch-brite pads WILL ruin the coating/surface of the plastic VERY EASILY. I use a quarter sheet of paper towel, a few drops of Dawn dish soap, and luke warm water. Wipe every surface, every corner, every hole and indentation… wash that sucker until you don’t feel anymore slimy cat spiddle anywhere!The stainless steel water pan however, ugh… we have very hard city water, so I have to use a fine SOS/steel wool pad to clean the hard water deposit “ring” that sets in near the topmost edge of the pan, and right where it pours out onto the pan. I try to use a little force as needed, but still. (Thankfully I listened to other reviewers and went with the stainless steel pan instead of the plastic pan!)The pump is the last thing I clean, which is easy enough to take apart… once I realized it does in fact come apart. Just pull off the end plastic piece where the sponge is, then use a fingernail or a fork handle to pull ~out~ the next piece of plastic – which conceals the impeller. The impeller is only held in by magnetic force, so be careful to not drop it down the sink! Scrub everything with the brush, rinse, put back together, done.>>>I only have TWO complaints<<

6 Months Continuous Use, 2 Cats, No Issues – EXCELLENT!
I have had this fountain for 6 months to provide water for 2 cats. It has been amazing for us! It’s easy to clean and replace the filters every couple of weeks. The battery power lasts more than a month (nearly 2) with the sensor feature going 24/7. I keep it in the master bathroom, and the noise is really quiet – I hear it when I use the bathroom and trip the sensor. Definitely quiet enough to sleep through for me (very light sleeper), and if it were in the actual bedroom a more sound sleeper would have no problem with it. Once I’m asleep, it wouldn’t wake me in the same room, either. The blue light on it is pretty minimal, but someone very sensitive to light at night (like me) would probably prefer to have it in another room, around a corner, or behind something else so it’s not directly in your eyeline – again, it wouldn’t wake me but might annoy me trying to fall asleep. All that said, my two cats share this and drink MUCH more water every day than they did from a bowl or from another ‘fountain’ I purchased that dispensed water from a flower fixture on top. I’m very happy with this fountain and haven’t had a single issue with it in 6 months of continuous use.

Very good so far, battery lasts about a fortnight. Love the convenience of being able to put it anywhere and it’s very simple to remove the rechargeable pump part for charging. Leaked a bit when I first used it but I think I must have not had the top on properly as it hasn’t leaked since. Not all of my cats took to it for about a couple of months but they all drink from it now. I still provide water bowls just in case but it’s good to know if they do run out I have this which holds tonnes of water as my oap cats are drinking a lot more in their senior years. Don’t have a photo to hand but it looks like the picture. If a red light flashes on and off in the bowl part it means the water level is getting low. If the charge is running out on the pump that flashes red on the top. Easy to clean. Simple good piece of kit which I’m glad about as not particularly cheap. I just hope it lasts unlike others I’ve had in the past. I did have this make recommended to me by a cat rescue who wouldn’t use any other so hopefully it will last.

Tiene un sensor muy sensible eso ayuda que se active más fácil con el minimo movimiento, me hubiera gustado que tuviera también la opción de flujo continuo eso lo haría un producto excelente!También me hubiera gustado que tuvieran un modelo que no tuviera el tope que está en medio de la bandeja.Lo compre especialmente para mis aves por el tiempo de calor y mantener el agua limpia por más tiempo, al parecer le gusta.

Brilliant item and great quality. Just set it up and cats x2 immediately drinking from it. They love it!Simple tip: the water wasn’t flowing, turns out the silicone pipe had a small seal over the top of it that needed to be removed (at the battery top part, not down near the impeller). Try that if the pump is firing but you aren’t seeing water!
