Great leash for exploring
Great leash that has worked very well! Our local school had some issues with people complaining about dogs not being on their leash even though it’s a fenced area where they can run and have fun. My dog loves to smell and explore and I hated to limit her to a small distance leash – with this she can roam and smell and I still have control with a leash so it was a win. She’s a 60lbs English springer who isn’t super active anymore but she still pulled it to get to her destination and it’s held up very well!

Quality retractable leash
I’ve had this leash for over six months now and it’s holding up great. It’s the perfect size for my hand and my 14 pound dog. Easy to control and just the right length, he can be independent but not too far from me. Wish it came in red since he got a new red collar and harness for Christmas.

Great length
The length is great – this is our second one- the first lasted a year. Although the leash itself is thinner than I’d like as weather (rain, cold, etc) wear out the fabric and the first one tore. The weight is fine – sometimes the retraction sticks, but I haven’t found anything better yet.

Sturdy, durable, and easy to use
I was looking for a retractable leash longer than normal to help with training my 6 month, 35 lb husky. I was reluctant to try this leash due to how thin the line is. But I gave it a try figuring I’d return it if it was a cheap quality or flimsy. After using this leash daily, for several weeks, in many different situations, I absolutely love it. I have not experienced any issue with the auto retraction (as I thought might happen) and the line is very sturdy. It is easy to use and is now my go to leash over any of my other standard length leashes. If I need the leash to be shorter as we are in a store or situation where my dog needs to be close to me, I just set the stop and it stays at the length I set. I absolutely would recommend this leash.

Excellent Leash for my 90 pound Dog !!
I purchased this leash as a replacement for the one I left on the roof of the car after putting my dog in the car. My stupidity aside, it actually was and is a blessing in disguise. This leash has a ribbon-type lead that moves so smoothly that I can barely feel it as it extends and retracts. The handle on this leash is solid and even more important is the ergonomically designed grip that makes this a pleasure to hold. It really does fit beautifully in my hand. If I have any complaint at all is the locking mechanism and truthfully, this may be more about my somewhat short and arthritic fingers. I find the mechanism hard to reach and engage. When I get my fingers to the mechanism it moves smoothly and locks the lead instantly. Again, this is probably more about me than this leash. For the price, it’s an excellent leash and I would buy it again after I leave this one on the roof and drive away.

Low spring tension
Low tension and terrible retraction. Also the stop button is difficult to work. Not a great leash to use with an active dog. It does look nice, but it did not work with my dog.

Here are 3 including this leash for a honest review. The kong is hands down the best quality it’s heavy, but really good rubber like grip.*The American kennel club leash was decent very light, but felt cheap and had the smallest clamp. The grip was small enough for my hands, but smooth plastic. I really don’t feel that this could hold up for my 80+ lb golden retrievers..** I did not like the emperor leash at all it couldn’t keep up with the retracting leash, and it was heavy and just a smooth plastic grip so it could slip out of your hands in the right situation.I just tried to add pictures, but it keeps telling me to try again and won’t let me add them. The kong ribbon it wider thicker and much better quality than all the rest. It is a little heavy, but I’m small 4’10 105 lbs so you can imagine I got small hands and I have two golden retrievers around 85lbs that pull like crazy and if a leaf blows they’re pulling me across the yard to get it. It’s all in the rubber like grip that makes all the difference in the world.

I bought this product previously but misplaced my first leash. I had been very happy with it so decided to replace the first with the same product. However I found the first leash before the second arrived. Therefore I now have a second as a backup. I haven’t used the second leash yet. However the first has proven to be very robust and reliable the spring tension is very good and the fabric strap is durable. After 6 months of daily use, often in the bush, the leash has operated reliably. There are a number of products on the market that look the same. However I have tried a couple of them and had lead breakage and rewind spring failures. The Emperor product on the other hand has been very reliable. If I had a complaint it would be with the size. The handle is too small to hold with a winter gloved hand. Consequently I tend to hold it with 2 or 3 fingers. Not really a big deal.

It’s good, I like it and it’s really long. My dog can go off and sniff and run a round when on walks and hiking. It does get stuck and it’s a bit hard to lock sometimes or unlock but it’s been through the ringer and still holding strong.
