SIMPLY THE BEST
* FLEXI New Classic Retractable Dog Leash (Cord), 26 ft, Medium, BLACK *I’ve had a couple of Flexi leashes over that last 7 years and they are both fully functional. They both have 16-foot cords and I was wanting to give my Mini Aussie a little more range room. When I took this leash out of the package, I thought it looked huge and felt heavy. Fast forward one month… I had to use one of her other leashes for the first time and was shocked at how “tiny” it felt. Yes, it’s larger than the 16′, but you get used to it in a snap. It works like a charm… high quality components and craftsmanship. Flexi leashes look good, perform flawlessly and are very durable . I highly recommend this leash.

Best Leash Yet – Still Working Great
About 20 months now and I finally broke the leash. Say say “I” because I let my beast wrap herself round a metal garbage can that had a sharp edge and it cut through the cord — but I think any lead would have failed under those circumstances. The recoil mechanism has continued to work flawlessly and never jammed once. I’m here to buy a replacement.5 Month Follow-Up:I don’t normally do follow-ups but I’ve been so impressed with this leash I thought it warranted one, especially given my past disappointment with other brands. This leash has now been through 5 months of daily, rugged use and it continues to work like they day it arrived. I walk my now-year-old, 28-pound “nose with legs” (beagle) daily through the forest and she still bolts whenever she sees a squirrel, rabbit, or chipmunk. She’s run through brush, downed trees limbs, and wrapped herself around trees, bushes, and sign posts. Amazingly, I’ve run my hand over the entire length of cord and I still can’t find a knick, fray, or any signs of a tear. Tough stuff. And the recoil mechanism is still working flawlessly and has never jammed. I’d buy another one of these leashes in a heartbeat.Original Review:I must say this is the best leash I have owned thus far (gone through 4 in the last 6 months with my beagle pup). I started with the corded-type but my puppy chewed through them easily. I then switched to the ribbon-type which was stronger but they often folded over on themselves at full extension and fouled the retrieve mechanism. Maddening. Now that my dog is a little older and mostly over the chewing phase I switched back to the corded type. This particular leash appears to be very well made with a solid spring/retrieval mechanism. I’ve had it for a couple of months now and it is still working well without issue.

Great quality, great for a big dog not a little dog
Great quality, works perfect. But it is too big and bulky for walking my little dog. I wanted a smaller version of this brand.

Awesome leash
Awesome leash. I love that my dog can have a little bit of freedom while walking. This handle is very comfortable to hold in the hand. We purchased the add-on attachment for the bags, and it fits seamlessly and is not noticeable. It is directly under the handle. We love it. The leash is a thin reflective cord, and the first foot of it is a little bit thicker leash. There is a loop inside this part that you don’t see, but if you need to hold the dog, it allows you to use both hands which is useful.I like the extra long leash because if I take him to a park, I can keep him on the leash and he has a lot more freedom to run around. If I want to shorten the leash, I can lock it easily with my thumb in one movement. I don’t need two hands to do this. There is a “stop” button, and if I slide my thumb just a little bit further, I can “lock” it in. I have used other retractable leashes in the past, and this is the best one I have ever had. There is also an add-on flashlight that you can buy to stick on the side. I don’t have this, but it’s flat and round and also fits very seamlessly on the Flexi leash. I like when I am walking I can customize the length depending on the situation. If my dog wants to stop to sniff something, I don’t have to stop walking, and he will get his sniff in, and then run to catch up to me if I am getting way ahead of him. If he really wants to sniff something for longer, I stop to let him do this, but it’s nice that I don’t have to stop ever time he does and I can keep my pace of walking going and often some of his sniffs don’t take that long. The he runs up ahead of me and finds something else to sniff. It works out really great. If he is walking next to me at a steady pace, I can make a loose leash, and just lock the cord into place. You do have to be responsible with this type of leash not letting too much cord out at the wrong times. But the flexibility of it is what makes this leash so great!

It’s not a bad leash and I do like it for my dog
It’s not a bad leash and I do like it for my dog. He is 25 lbs and it allows him to run around a bit when we’re out walking. The big button stops him when I press it but sometimes it feels like the internal mechanisms are still holding onto the leash after I release it, requiring a quick pull on the leash to free it. Also, the locking mechanism is getting more difficult to use the more I use the brake as it sometimes requires a bit more force than necessary to lock. It could very well be the cold, though as that will definitely affect how these mechanisms perform their tasks. If Flexi could use some internal design changes, or choose some better plastics inside which will handle the stresses better, it may help with the longevity of the braking system. Still, I would recommend it because it is a good retractable leash. I can use it on my runs with my dog or on longer walks with him at the local parks, going around the hardware store, or when going hiking.

Awesome product would buy again
This product is awesome. I have used this for a year now with both of my small dogs. I’ve also purchased the poop bag holder and the light that attaches via Velcro for this leash. I love everything about them they work wonderfully.

My dog likes a bit of room to wander when he has to be on the lead so he always has an 8 meter extender. We brought this to replace one that lasted 8 years. Hope this one lasts as long. Should do same make and just as sturdy.

When walking along and it’s on lock position it makes a constant loud clicking noise which is extremely irritating. Wouldn’t buy one again.
