In order to fully utilize the functionality of the harness, as well as the fit, we recommend measuring the largest part of the dog’s chest and following the recommended sizes below. The pointier part goes to the front!
This harness is awesome!Easy to use, easy to get on, not easy to escape.For those wondering about how to tell which way goes to the front, as somebody who has put them on wrong a few times, the pointier bit goes to the front. Also, on ours, the little joint (?) part in the middle is the same color as the piping in the front (grey on ours), but the color of the main harness (yellow on ours) in the back. You can see this in the photos. Sadly, I didn’t figure that part out before I marked the inside of the front on ours.Once I figured out which side goes forward, I took a permanent marker and marked the inside of the front side. It’s easier than trying to study it every time, but again, that was before I realized the bit about the joint, rib, cross thingy being different on the front and the back (on the outside, anyway).It is a very subtle difference and I don’t know why they don’t make it obvious like they do with the picture of the dog on the front of their other models.

Great design
This is such an easy to use harness for those of us who have a pet who likes to lead the walk. The design of the harness makes putting it on and taking it off very easy, and there is no pressure on your pet’s neck. The sizing allows for some adjustment, meaning it likely won’t get too tight as your pup grows or puts on some weight.

Comfortable and fits well
Puppy was very uncomfortable with the Velcro vest type of harness. Glad I found this one. He doesn’t scratch at it or try to bite it off. It’s secure and he doesn’t slip out of it. The harness is well made and the material is flexible and not stiff like some other step in harnesses.

It’s a little bit challenging to get on my dog cause he has a ton of fur and although he weighs 15 pounds he has a large chest because of his breed.

Light and comfortable for long trips
I bought this specifically to use on my dog while she’s in the passenger seat. I have a dog booster seat for her with a safety belt, and sometimes we travel long distances. I wanted a more comfortable harness for her while she naps as I drive, but that would hold her in place connected to the safety strap if I had to slam on the brakes. This harness is perfect. Its definitely durable enough for everyday use and I don’t think it would be easy for a dog to wiggle out of it, so it’s secure. I’ll be leaving it connected to the safety belt in my vehicle to keep the pupster safely held in place whether we’re on long or short drives.

Easy, yes, but not my top choice for every day
If you’re someone who likes to use the harness just for walks a couple times a day, this a good option. It’s very easy to put on and take off, it’s durable, well made, seems comfortable for the dogs, although the chest strap hits higher on the chest than the comfort X does- it doesn’t seem to put pressure on that area which is good, and is secure. I prefer to keep the harness on because we have a puppy too and we’re in and out very quickly and many times per day. My biggest complaint is how the two buckle straps have excess length and bounce around when not attached to a leash. It somehow seems too big though I couldn’t size down or the chest/leg opening would be too small. I LOVE the Gooby Comfort X line though, and will stick with that since I prefer to keep their harnesses on most of the time.

I’m really impressed
I have a Maltese, this breed is vulnerable to collapsed trachea so I look for harnesses that don’t come close to her neck. They can be hard to find, especially in a size small enough for her (6 lbs), but this one fits her really well. It sits low and across the chest and doesn’t ride up to her neck when she pulls forward.I was pretty skeptical when I saw it was just a loop, but it fits her well and works perfectly. I think she finds it more comfortable than any of her other harnesses too.It’s thin but slightly cushioned, enough to be comfortable but not bulky or add heat on hot days. It’s well made, fastens easily, and I was able to adjust the sides to fit her perfectly.If I had to nitpick I’d suggest making the loops where you clip the leash a bit smaller/narrower, at least on the sizes meant for small dogs. The clip on leashes for little guys can also be small so it doesn’t weight the smaller dog down (or look weird), so some of my leashes have a hard time fitting both the rings in the clip. I’m able to maneuver them in pretty easily but a few times it’s been hard to then get the rings back out of the clip, which becomes pretty frustrating for both me and my dog.Overall the harness is really great and I’m so happy I found it, my dog is too.

So inconsistent
Small worked great, but he “outgrew” it. However, the size ranges are VERY inaccurate. My dog measures 17 inches around the body now and neither the small or medium fits him like it says it would (S: 14.25-17/M: 16.75-21.5). I can buckle the small on him but the D rings are 3 inches apart I can’t clip them to the leash. Went straight to donation. The medium is TOO big for him, it’s so loose I can stick my entire hand underneath and when I walk him in it he can get an elbow out. The buckle and strap tighteners are hard and very stiff to move compared to the smooth glide of the he small. It’s not defective either, I got the M neoprene sport x shaped one and it’s just as difficult with the tighteners. So yeah not escape proof.
