Recent Kibble size change, very very small now.
In general, I love this cat food. It’s great for my cat’s needs and is truly quality cat food. When I adopted him, he was very overweight so we started with the weight control option from this brand and then got him switched to the hairball and urinary tract one once he got to a healthy weight. Before I got him on this brand of food, his coat was very dull and rough and not very full. But after about a month, it became super shiny, soft, and healthy. He has a sensitive stomach but this formula is gentle enough that he doesn’t get sick. The only thing I don’t like is that the last two bags I got now have kibbles that are 1/3 the size. So he doesn’t have to chew them as much which causes him to eat too fast and throw up. I don’t understand why they changed the kibble size but I’m pretty upset about it.In general, though, the formula is fantastic for maintaining your cat’s nutrition without them getting any fillers that can cause weight gain. And it doesn’t have two pungent of a smell so if you’re sensitive to the smell of cat food, this one is a lot less fragrant.

Like the smaller kibble size of the new formula
Reading the reviews, it feels like I’m the only one who likes the new formula. However, I have very specific circumstances.Cats are sensitive to quick changes in food, so without notice, having a change will cause them to vomit. It doesn’t necessarily mean the food is bad. They just don’t like to change diets so quickly. We’re feeding outdoor community cats, many of whom are boys, so we’ve gotten big bags of this for quite a while now. We’ve had our guys spayed and neutered, so they’re mostly middle-aged, with a few older and a couple younger. The giant kibbles were a bit difficult for them to eat, so I was quite happy to see the kibble size changed. Our cats are vacuuming up the new formula. I still had big bags of the old formula, and was a little sad that I had to put them through that again. But I’ve finally finished going through the old formula, and had a chance to make a gradual shift to the new. We have about 20 cats or so eating the new formula, and they seem to prefer it quite a bit.Again, these are outdoor cats with more diverse diets than normal cats, so they took the shift better than a typical indoor cat probably would. If you have a chance, I absolutely recommend slowly shifting from the old formula to the new because a fast shift might make your cat vomit. I’m not sure if there are major changes quality-wise (I’ve saved an old bag so I can compare them whenever I have time), but our cats seem to love it. They’ve even seemed to lose some interest in their treats as the treats don’t seem to attract them much more than this food does now.It turned out to be a welcome change for me as so many of our guys are older and having more mouth issues and such. The old kibbles were just too big.

    Truly helps with less sickness
Really helps my kitty not get sick all the time. When I first got her she was vomiting every single day. I suspect it was going on for a very long time because her voice is even hoarse. This food has helped her immensely.

    ONLY product that worked
5.0 out of 5 starsI hate cats, but I love this food (yes, really)I’m going to be brutally honest: I do not like cats. I married a man who came with one, and for the first two years of our marriage I was cleaning up cat puke literally every single day. Random piles on the rug, on the couch, on my brand-new white duvet, once even in my work shoe. I was ready to list the cat on Craigslist (kidding… mostly). We tried everything: different bowls, smaller portions, elevated feeders, hairball gels that taste like malt candy and apparently work for every cat except ours. Nothing helped. The vet finally said, “He’s prone to both hairballs and urinary issues; put him on Hill’s Science Diet Urinary Hairball Control.” I rolled my eyes, dropped $60 on a bag, and figured it would be another waste of money.Three days later the vomiting stopped. Not “slowed down.” Stopped. Cold. It’s been four months now and I have not found a single regurgitated hairball or mystery puddle. The cat still hacks dramatically like he’s auditioning for a drama award, but nothing actually comes up. Magic.Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, the kibble is tiny and he acts like I’m feeding him gourmet crumbs. I don’t care. My floors are clean, my sanity is intact, and I no longer flinch every time I hear that tell-tale retching sound at 3 a.m.So if you’re a reluctant cat co-owner (or full-on cat hater) who just wants the barfing to end, this food is worth its weight in gold. I still don’t like the cat… but I tolerate him a lot more now.Five stars from someone who never thought they’d write a glowing cat-food review. Hill’s, you have my eternal grumpy gratitude.

    Cocokitty likes it!
I switched to Hill’s Science Diet Adult 1-6 Urinary Hairball control cat foot from a more pricey Hill’s Science Diet prescribed from my vet, unfortunately with prices these days I couldn’t fit the one from my vet in the budget. But I researched online and this was a decent replacement. My cat loved in right away and she is picky with all food, even wet cat food. She is 12 years old and will eat this. I have noticed less hairballs. But as far as the Urinary control and kidney health, she is healthy according to the vet and I think she’s doing just fine when compared to the prescription version.

    Before and after
What happened? The kibble used to have bigger sized kibble! Now it is a fraction of its size in kibble! I gave a three because the size has shrunk substantially,, although my cat is eating it like he hasn’t eaten in days. For that reason alone I upped my stars to 4 stars!

Great for our cat with urinary crystal susceptibility
Switched from similar prescription cat food that was more than twice the price, and so happy we did. We have an orange, male tabby who is susceptible to urinary crystals and has had to have expensive surgery twice. We were advised to try a prescription brand that was very pricey. We found this cat food to be very similar and way more affordable, so we made a the switch. After over a year of use, our cat has had zero issues with urinary crystals. We use it with our other male cat too, and they both love the taste.

My cat if weird he likes to rip off big chunks of his fur and walk around the house with it hanging off his mouth. The daily routine consist of me running after him and trying to pry those big chunks out of his mouth before he just munches on it and swallow them all that while looking at me straight in the eyes. This will eventually lead to a couple of days later the inevitable throwing up of the said swallowed fur. Since I switched to this food. no more throwing up hairballs. But I still do the daily chases just because we love it.

Dont believe the negative reviews saying it is not suitable for Indian cats. All my 11 Indian cats and the cats who come to my house are eating this and they absolutely love this as well. Some cats may hesitate at first but you gotta go slow with them by mixing it with their old food, bu they will surely love it once they get used to it. My cats have gained healthy weight and better coat and less fur fall after they start eating this. Definitely go for it.

It’s the best for a reason. My cats do wonderfully on this brand so I stick with it. It’s also what all vets recommend, so why not?

Surpreende a todos que comprei. Muito bom. Infelizmente eu não posso, manter pelo valor. O presidente dos infelizes, tiram tudo de nós. Até o sono.
