Vertical Shelving = Happy Cats
Let me preface this by saying I am a young woman with zero carpentry skills. I was terrified of tackling this task alone but my dream to create a cat sanctuary overcame the fear of placing unwanted holes in my new walls.First, I pieced the cat shelves together. That part was easy since all parts were counted for and everything fit together.There is ONE piece on the balcony shelf that is not marked, which I discovered would have been awfully helpful. The bottom platform of the balcony does not state “up/down” or “left/right.” So when I was attempting to attach the bridge to the balcony, I discovered the pre drilled holes were on the right side, instead of the left.It was a simple fix, though, because I just created two holes for the bridge placement on the correct side (see pictures for reference).Then, I mapped out my wall. I used a stud finder and painter’s tape to mark the places I’d place the cat shelves to the studs.I used ChatGPT to guide me with the vision, and help place pieces where they should ideally go, best suited for a cat’s preferences and needs.Then, the hard part. The drilling. Despite being worried of the holes I was creating, it was relatively straightforward to mount the shelves to the wall. I was surprised how sturdy the shelves came to be. The cat shelves are well made and thick, and I am convinced it would hold at least twenty pounds of cat.I did choose to leave out the second bridge because my limited wall space, and I think it looks great, balanced.The whole project took nearly five hours, from start to finish. I completed the job by only use of myself and ChatGPT. My two sphynx cats are still getting used to vertical shelving, but currently, they are comfortable climbing up to the top without enticement!Because this project was so successful, I am eager to take on another cat shelving project. The height and functionality are perfect.We love these cat shelves!

Awesome shelves!! Easy enough to assemble, just time consuming. Instructions were clear enough. Our cats love the final result!! Enough shelves to cover a large wall with plenty of variability for the cats’ enjoyment!! Even our larger cat (10ish-lbs) enjoys them. The moon shaped bed is big enough to let two cats cuddle!!

My cat loves these. They are sturdy and have had no issues. I would suggest making the bridges tight, without slack, because my cat was scared to use the bridge when it was loose.

Worth it
Overall, this set is worth it. You get so many pieces and while it is a little effort to assemble them, they are functional. And I think they look really cute. My advice would be too carefully plan out your design ahead of time and locate the studs in the walls. The anchors make it relatively sturdy, but we made sure that each piece also had at least one screw that connected to a stud.

Difficult to put up. Screws for attaching to wall are too long and something is wrong with the metal, they all stripped easily so we had to buy our own screws.We bought the beige fabric covered 20 piece set. The fabric is a slick fur and is not glued on, but only tacked on the bottom, with a screw on the top so you can pick it up off of the structure, and is loose and makes out easy for a cat to lose their grip.The tower only fits one way against wall, in such way that no matter how you arrange the bottom levels, it’s a challenging ledge for the cat to get over.The tunnel is a felt fabric that is velcroed to the base with pressed paper wood ribs that our cats immediately got on top of And crushed, but also got tangled in making it likely they could get stuck and panic and possibly fall off the shelf, which is also made of that slick fur material that is not securely fastened to the ledge.There is a stairway that is bigger than all the pieces so it’s just random in the middle of the wall and doesn’t fit to attach to any other pieces. Like it’s deeper than any of the other pieces so it sticks out 4 inches longer than the boxes if you wanted to have the ladder go up to a box or to a ledge so it just looks funny.All in all, I felt that the quality was pretty cheap and that I paid way too much for what I got. It wasn’t easy to put together. It doesn’t seem like it functions well for the cat in a solid way that makes you feel confident. I wish I’d got the wood version that had no fabric because the one that has the beige fabric if I ripped all the fabric off, it looks like it’s particleboard underneath, not even nice wood. And the idea was to create a cute little pleasing to look at fun, safe solid sturdy wall environment for our kitties, but there are other kids out there that probably cost the same and are better made.
