So, while it’s a solid, well-built product, in our case, it mostly serves as an attractive outdoor yard decoration. It doesn’t truly offer the comforts of home to lure them in at all. And hence, it is not functional to the purposes intended. Neither have other critters decided to make it home which we have had oppossums, stray cats, ir raccoons attempt to claim our other little cat houses etc, this one does not seem as inviting to any of them as well!(Why I took off a star): The price, it is more than I would like to pay for a doghouse and I will update based on how it endures the elements (will it become brittle, discolored, warped) and I will adjust based on time and exposure resistence.Final Verdict:If you have an outdoor dog or a tough indoor dog who needs reliable, dry, and elevated shelter, this house is a fantastic, weather-ready option. If your dogs are anything like mine—accustomed to the finest comforts of the indoors—they might appreciate the view, but they won’t be moving in! It’s there, it’s solid, and it’s ready for a less pampered dog family.

No complaints
I don’t have any complaints. Easy to assemble, Free shipping was nice so I can’t complain about the price. Extremely minor cosmetic damage like a scratch on the roof but that doesn’t really matter. I got this to keep my 40lb dog warm when she’s outside during the day and im not here. I will put straw in it but it does not really get below 40F here during the day so I wouldn’t rely on it to keep her warm on freezing temps especially at night but it will do for south east Texas climate!

The Large Outdoor Dog House Insulated Weatherproof Double HDPE Dog Shelter is very easy to assemble and took about 10 minutes. The instructions were easy to follow and even included a tool to tighten the 8 plastic nuts. It is made of plastic similar to a kid’s playhouse. Beyond that, it does not have any added insulation so not really sure what they mean by “insulated”.It seems decently sturdy even if not super thick but not for larger or heavier dogs. It has quite a bit of flex when my 2 year old son (32-ish pounds) played around in it before we setup it up for the dog. Also, I’d say this “large” house is more for small to midsize dogs and I would not go by the clearly photoshopped picture with the large dogs on it. The proportion is absurd. The dog didn’t care for the wind/weather clear screen flap thing on the door so I removed it. I think it’ll also help provide more venting since the flap would block nearly all air. I would also put down some sort of mat. If it is in the elements, maybe a softer mat and cut it to size at least. If it is in a covered area, maybe add a dog bed and remove the side window for better air flow. All in all, it looks great and should work for a lot of dogs/situations.

Got this dogs to use if they get caught in the rain or whenever they want. They’re indoor dogs, so will not be living in it.It is large – size is accurate to listing details. Well made, rugged and durable.Assembly is fairly straightforward.No strange odor when I opened the manufacturer box.Dogs were unsure about it, so there could be an odor, but I think it’s just a strange thing for them. I’ll put in a pillow they’ve been using and see if that helps.Happy to find and recommend this affordable quality dog essential.
