Works as intended
This is beautiful and well made. It actually looks better than the photos and the colors made for a striking contrast against his black fur. I bought it for a stray kitten who adopted me and it was used for several months. He was at that age somewhere between kitten and adult when I bought this and it was easily adjusted to fit his smaller size like I hoped it would. The collar held up pretty well to lots of play time and some scratching. It did come off a couple of times like it was designed to and I was easily able to adjust it as he grew bigger. It’s probably still useable but I have no idea where it came off the last time. I’m just glad it worked since my cat loves crawling into tiny spaces and getting into places he shouldn’t be. The bell was also pretty handy as a warning device for incoming sneak attacks. He’s grown out of that behavior for the most part, but my cat loved to hide under the furniture, wait till you or one of the dogs walked by, then pounce from behind. He hated it at first but the bell was great training for the both of us. It helped hone my reflexes when I heard him coming and motivated him to be stealthier. All in all, it’s a fantastic collar.

Sushi love’s it
Sushi is a very spoiled Siamese and has been known to take off collars that do not suit her taste. She love’s her new collar and with the replacement policy, I wish I had bought her one 18 years ago. It is colorful, not the ordinary generic collar that everyone else has. It is a little stiff but she does not object. Sushi is a small cat weighing only about 5 pounds and it can be adjusted for her delicate bone structure. I am so glad it does not have that hanging flap that so many collars do. While sushi is an indoor cat, I want the collar to stay on since it holds her tags. The latch is secure. I am very happy with this collar and gave it 4 stars only because it remains stiff after 2 weeks of use.UPDATE Sushi is now 20.5 years and the collar still looks new and is no longer stiff. So I am upping the review to 5 stars. It is purrfect (groan).

Great collar!
This collar is very nicely made! You can tell it’s great quality. The material is thick. The buckle is break away (a must for cat collars). And the colors are stunning and look so handsome on my boy. Highly recommend!

Breaks away easily
Cute and well made. But unfortunately, the break away opens too easily. Everyday, our cat is collarless and we have to search for the collar and put it back on. I certainly like the safely of knowing my cat won’t hang herself, which is why I chose a collar with a breakaway feature. However, the other reason I bought a collar is that I am concerned she will get outside and have no identification. She is microchipped, but many people just look for a collar and if there isn’t one, they may keep her 🙁 she is a beautiful Siamese. The collar falling off so easily is not a good thing :/ going to buy a different one.So, I bought in April and it is now August. The collar has been missing because of the cat taking it off :/ I just found it yesterday and thought I would add photos to the review. The cat killed it by scratching it. I replaced it with a leather collar.Of note, I bought my son a Lupine collar for his Standard Poodle in June, 2011 (6yrs ago) The dog collar is still in great condition. Lupine makes sturdy, beautiful collars. But if you have a scratch happy cat, or an escape artist, the lupine kitty collar may be a poor choice.Update:I contacted Lupine, and they sent me a new collar, free of charge. All they wanted was a picture of the collar emailed to them. The one I received doesn’t fall off as often… Twice a week instead of every twenty minutes 🙂 so, an improvement! I will keep it as my back up collar, it’s good to have a spare! Lupine has GREAT customer service.

Looks like new after several months, it does not fray at all!
My cat used to ruin his collar within a week from constantly licking at it. It would look like a fur collar all around the edges. It was bad. He has had this Lupine collar for months and it has not frayed or faded at all!! It still looks brand new. Very high quality and the price is the same as the cheap collars you buy in the pet store. I definitely recommend!Update June 2014About two years later and this collar still looks new & he’s worn it the entire time. I have not switched his collar at all. It still has it’s bright colors and is not frayed!!

My cat lost it in 1 day
I didn’t get a chance to take a photo because my cat lost it outside on the first day. It opens way too easily, and I didn’t like how thick it is, especially on the part where you have a plastic thingy that changes the length, the band was sticking out 1cm thick at that part.Overall the color was nice, the band itself seemed good quality, probably would last long without ripping, but the problem was the closure.

This collar makes my kitty feel pretty.The pattern looks great. The bell has a charming jingle so I can hear where she is.The breakaway clasp works well; it doesn’t release inconveniently when I don’t want it to, but would give way if my cat got stuck on something and pulled on it hard. I would recommend this collar to the discerning cat owner who wants their cat to look well cared for.
