Vet Warns against grain FREE but dog likes if i mix it in
Natural Balance Limited Ingredient formula has been a game-changer for my dog’s allergies, with its grain-free, single-protein recipes like duck and potato delivering shiny coat and itch-free skin. Digestion improved dramatically—no more scratching or tummy troubles—thanks to high-quality, limited ingredients that avoid common irritants. My pup devours it dry or mixed with wet food, and switching flavors keeps meals exciting without upset. As someone who champions store brands for efficacy and affordability, this premium yet accessible option earns top marks for nutrition and palatability in adult dogs.

10 out of 10 dog food, only issue?! cost x
My doggie has serious allergies to chicken and beef. So, this is one of the only food that she can eat. I also love that they have a broad range of options that don’t have any chicken or beef in it. Most dog foods, even if they aren’t that flavor have it in there. Of course the price could be a little less, but, the quality is good and so worth it.

A lifelong favorite for my dog
I have been feeding my dog Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Fish since he was a puppy, and it has been a consistent winner for almost 13 years now. Early on, we discovered he had a poultry allergy, which made finding a food he would actually eat a real challenge. This formula was a lifesaver. Not only did he love the taste, but it also agreed with his sensitive stomach. When he was a puppy, we started with the easy-to-eat bites (Natural Balance makes a puppy version of this), which made transitioning to the adult version of this food simple. As he grew, we moved him to the adult kibble, and he has continued to enjoy it without any issues. Over the years, I’ve noticed he maintains healthy energy levels, a shiny coat, and good digestion, all signs that this food really works for him. It’s also convenient because it’s easy to store, measure, and feed, making mealtime simple. I’ve tried other brands, but nothing compares to how reliably he enjoys this food and how well it suits his needs. For any dog with sensitivities or just a picky eater, this is a fantastic option.Five stars without a doubt. It has been a staple in our household for over a decade and we couldn’t be happier with it.

3 months of use – some allergy improvements
My frenchies have been on this for a few months now and I am honestly not sure if I have noticed much of a difference in their allergies, which was my initial reason for moving to this brand and this protein. Like most Frenchies my male has some pretty bad skin allergies that surfaced a few years ago and my female was gnawing on her feet constantly. They both had occasional yeast overgrowth and we have been trying different things to help manage it. I have noticed slightly less chewing on their paws so I will count that as a win but it’s also winter time now so it may just be less heat is leading to less yeast overgrowth. I want to make sure people understand “limited ingredient” does not mean less ingredients, it just means they are using alternative protein that’s not on the common allergy list and leaving out other common allergens like gluten, wheat, etc. They were on Canidae for years before I made this switch. The food does look good in terms of moisture – it doesn’t pour out of the bag looking dry and stale. It’s darker in color seems fresh as far as kibble goes so it does make me feel like it’s decent quality. As far as being effective with allergies or skin issues it’s hard to say.

works for my Hypo- allergenic mutt
Wifes dog is allergic to food containing chicken products. Thins is a much cheaper substitute that the Hill’s prescription diet we were buying.

My dog loves this dog food
My dog is on a restricted diet due to her allergy to chicken. She has always enjoyed this since the first time we tried it.

Sweet potato and venison made my dog ill
The sweet potato and venison gave my dog so many problems, including uncontrollable bowel movements and diarrhea. Poor thing was so uncomfortable he had to be taken outside every hour. I stopped mixing in this food on day four and he was much better the next day. Two weeks after, I tried testing it again and mixed in 10% of this food and 90% of his regular food and the same thing happened again… My dog is six years old and has never reacted to any food, dry or other wise, or any of the ingredients listed in this way. I suspect something is really wrong with my batch. It’s a shame because now I am out of $85 and stuck with 22lbs of food that I can’t give my dog or give away.

Think they changed the formula. Not suitable for my dog anymore. Skin gotten worse and he is no longer looking forward to his meals anymore. Still have 3 more packets unopened.
