    Perfect brush for my Golden!
I bought the Paw Brothers Professional Grade Extra Long Slicker Brush for my golden retriever, and it has been a game-changer! The extra-long pins reach deep into his thick coat, making it easy to remove loose undercoat and tangles without causing discomfort. The ergonomic handle is comfortable to hold, even during long grooming sessions, and the brush does a fantastic job of keeping his fur looking smooth and healthy. It’s durable, well-made, and way more effective than other brushes I’ve tried. If you have a long-haired or double-coated dog, this brush is a must-have! Highly recommend!

    Efficient and well built.
A must-have for every Husky parent. Mine hates being brushed, so the fact that I can get so much hair in less time makes it less of a chore. It’s strong and efficient enough for fluffy dogs and gentle for short-haired dogs, too. It works on my English Bulldog, too, but for him, getting brushed is like having a spa day.

Nice slicker for long coats, good inexpensive alternative to CC brushes
First off–PLEASE educate yourself on how to use a slicker brush properly before using this on an animal. It is NOT like using a pin-type brush. The pins of a slicker are sharp and will irritate the skin if you push down on the brush. This is universal to all slickers, not just this one, but if you try it and think there must be something wrong with the brush because your pet won’t let you brush them–it’s probably how you’re using the brush, not the brush itself.I got this to use on my Newfie as she’s growing her coat back out–she came to me having been clipped down by previous owners. It tangles up very easily and so she needs brushing A LOT. The longer pins are ideal for dogs with lots of coat. If you have 2 or 3 giant dogs with that much coat, this brush probably isn’t going to hold up, and you should invest in a CC slicker (with the denser pins–makes for quicker work, in addition to a large working surface). If you’re a professional groomer, you definitely need something on that level. But if you are a pet owner who is just maintaining your dog in between groomer visits and you can’t quite stomach paying $50+ for one brush for your dog…this is probably the best option I’ve found. The quality is not poor, by any means, it just isn’t super top-of-the-line, going to last for decades. At some point, you really do get what you pay for, but you should ask yourself, what kind of quality do you NEED?The handle is nicer than the handle of the universal-style slicker brushes ,where they’re just a plastic cylinder with some ridges. It’s got raised rubber bits for grip on the bottom and top of the handle, as well as on top of the slicker area and right at the base of the slicker area on the business side. This is really nice because it gives you traction to grasp the handle whether you’re brushing with or against the coat, and the grip on top of the slicker can accommodate your index finger or your thumb, depending on how you want to hold the brush. Sometimes, it’s nice just to have options and switch your hold if your wrist or hand is getting sore. Sometimes, you need to grip the brush a certain way to get the right angle against the dog you’re brushing, who, even if very well-behaved, isn’t generally 100% unmoving.I’ve been using this for over a month and it’s holding up very well. I do feel like maybe the pins aren’t set into the base as well as they could be–I have a few that seem to have bent at the base or look like they’re trying to rotate? But then again, this brush has been knocked down a few times by 120 pounds of very enthusiastic dog, which might have something to do with it. I like the metal crimps holding the base with the pins down–it seems potentially sturdier than those with plastic housing.Like any slicker brush, you’re generally going to have to clean hair out of it with a comb. If a ton of coat is stuck onto it, you can roll it down, off the pins, but it’s more effective as a brush if it’s not full of hair already. Do NOT try to pull small amounts of hair off with your fingers. The pins are a great length for cuticle-stabbing. (It’s so tempting to try if you forgot to grab the comb, but DON’T DO IT! Trust me!)I’ve also used this on my GSD/Aussie/Collie/Chow/a bunch of other breeds mix who, while he doesn’t have anywhere near as much hair as a Newfie, has a TON of undercoat (thank you, Chow heritage!) It pulls out that undercoat SO WELL and he tolerates it much better than he does any other brushes.I only gave it 4 of 5 stars in easy to clean and easy to use, but that’s really just because it’s a slicker brush–it’s not any harder to clean than any other slicker I’ve had with pins this long (the shorter pinned ones, you can usually get away with cleaning them with your fingers more), and it’s no harder to use than any other similar brush. It’s just not necessarily an inborn skill, how to brush with one of these correctly. So if you’re new to slicker brushing, do yourself and your pet a favor, check out some instructional videos or ask your groomer, breeder, mentor, whoever to show you how to do it correctly to keep from scratching the skin.

Typical Slicker Brush – works as described
I loved the price. For a competitor brand name slicker brush the price was 30.This is the same product as another big name slicker brush. While I love the other brand, for a 15.00 price difference. I ordered this brush taking a risk. I figured worst case I would send it back if I didn’t like it. That said, the brush is nice. Not to heavy, not too light (that is a thing btw). Perfect, nice handle grip. We use this A LOT. As this is being used in a professional setting – pet grooming. It works. It does what it should. We will see long term if the issue of separating happens as did with our Andis brush. I will update after a few months. For the brush itself five stars thus far. But I do reserve the right to change the stars in the future. What I didn’t like actually wasn’t a problem with the brush. It was the packaging! It camein a huge box with packing peanuts. I hate peanuts. This company doesn’t know that. I hatethem. As they floof out of the box and my little naughty dog (chihuahua, read he is a lovely jerk whom we love) tried to eat the stupid peanuts. A scuffle ensued. Little dog did NOT eat the peanuts in the end. But he was close. I loved the packaging itself but I am just not sure how to recycle the peanuts safely. As I have a dog that will eat medications if they are dropped he took these as food. Had I known that packing peanuts were used I would have put him in another room. (Yes, he is that much of a “challenge” sometimes.) So in closing, brush good. Peanuts bad. I took a star off but I am not sure that was fair. :/

Game-Changing Slicker Brush That Delivers Professional Results
I’ve used a lot of grooming tools over the years, and this slicker brush absolutely stands out. The extra-long stainless steel pins are the real deal—they get deep into the undercoat and pull out loose hair, tangles, and dirt with way less effort than other brushes I’ve tried. It’s amazing how much this thing pulls out, even on dogs that don’t look like they’re shedding. The ergonomic handle makes a big difference too. It’s comfortable, doesn’t slip, and lets you work longer without your hand getting tired. The flat slicker head is gentle but effective, so you’re not scratching or irritating your dog’s skin. What I really like is that it works on everything—thick coats, long coats, double coats—you name it. I’ve used it on multiple dogs and it performs equally well across the board. It feels like the kind of tool professional groomers use, and it’s built solid enough to last.If you’re looking for a high-quality slicker brush that actually does what it promises, this one is worth every penny. Highly recommend.

This is great for my cavapoo’s curly hair, which is a bit overlong at the moment. The brush is quite big, so can be a bit difficult between the legs on very small dogs. Ideally I need to get the same, but smaller.Good long pins, which work well to untangle hair before it gets too matted.I’d say it pulls on the hair too much to work on an established matt, especially in sensitive areas.

Great for my Pyrenees and maremma. I like that it captures the hair in the brush and doesn’t float all over the place when brushing the dogs.
