Most effective poop pail to control the stink!
This is by far the best poop pail we have ever owned. This is our second. The first lasted for 5 years, sitting outside in the elements (four seasons of Pennsylvania) with relatively no issues. Unfortunately, it got hit and fell, breaking the hinge cleanly off. Still we used it as the handle held the lid on fine. But when I saw it on sale for early Black Friday, I couldn’t pass up getting a new one.The charcoal insert and design manages odor brilliantly. You only get a whiff of stink when you open it. It is easy to remove and change the bag.One note, it is on the light side. We’ve placed a heavy rock in the bottom of the outside container just to keep it steady in the wind. No problem with blowing with that extra weight.

Works well at first but handle design needs improvement
This container really does a good job with odor control when it’s new. The locking handle keeps the seal tight and the deodorizer helps keep things fresh. The problem is the handles are flimsy and once they break the seal is gone. That’s exactly what happened to mine and without the seal odors leak out. I even went as far as 3D printing supports to fix the handle, which worked for now, but you shouldn’t have to do that on a product like this. I submitted a warranty request and if they replace it, I’ll bump my rating from 3 stars to 4 because when it works, it’s actually one of the better solutions for keeping dog poop bags contained indoors.Another thing I’ve noticed over time is the plastic tends to hold onto smells. Even after scrubbing it out, the odor doesn’t completely go away once it’s been used for a while. The design is slim and it looks decent in the room, but the durability of the handles is the weak point that makes or breaks this container. If that part was stronger, it would be close to perfect.Update: I’ve changed my review to 5-stars because I reached out to the company and they immediately shipped me a new one with absolutely no hassle.

Better than LitterGenie but I wish it had a litter scoop hook
I got tired of purchasing replacement bags for my LitterGenie and found the Petfusion. The Petfusion consists of a plastic interior liner which hooks onto a disposable bag. That inner liner goes into a pail, which has a sealing lid. The sealing lid has a pocket to hold replaceable charcoal.I prefer this to my LitterGenie for several reasons. Most notably, you can use whatever bags you want because they just clip inside. Similarly, you can also use whatever charcoal packet you want in the lid.The Petfusion opening is much wider, so larger clumps of litter do not get stuck. The Petfusion also doesn’t require you to awkwardly tie the bottom of a poop bag, which is not only gross but also sometimes undo in a disastrous fashion. With the Petfusion you just unclip the bag, tie the top, and throw it away. You could also dump the unit in your main garbage bag directly. Finally, the Petfusion has a handle which makes it easier to carry between multiple litter boxes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a hook to hang your scoop as well. The LitterGenie probably has better sealing, because you catch a whiff whenever you open the Petfusion. But my cat’s litter doesn’t smell that bad, and it’s so much faster to dump litter into the Petfusion that I don’t mind.I worry long-term that the plastic pail will eventually absorb smells, but we’ll see.

Easy to Use
Overall, I like this product. I’ve always used Litter Genie and hated the bag system for it. They’re expensive and don’t last very long! In my opinion, the best feature of this container is the fact that you can use your own bag. You save a ton of money by being able to purchase whatever you want! When it’s closed and sealed, it does a great job of containing the odor. I’ve been using this for about 3 months and have never smelled anything outside of the container. When the container is open, the smell is pretty powerful. I don’t feel the charcoal inserts help or reduce odor whatsoever, and I will not purchase those again. Moisture also accumulates around the seal, which I don’t love, but you only encounter when emptying the container. When I empty, I always use a sanitizing wipe on the edges where the moisture was and I also wipe down the entire inside. I leave the container in my garage for the day to air out. I do feel the plastic does absorb some of the odor, and I feel leaving it to air out helps. I do think this will probably have to be replaced more often than a Litter Genie because of that fact, the odor absorbed will become overpowering with time (but maybe I’m wrong!). I have 2 small cats, and I change the bag once a week. Changing the bag is very easy. There are clips on 2 sides to secure it. Overall, I like this container to dispose of kitty waste! It’s easy to use and more convenient than other options. I would purchase this again.

Effective, simple, a life changer
Easy to figure out — I just watched one of the reviewer’s videos here for a few seconds and it was clear. Really keeps odors from escaping. No more daily trips to the outside trash bins — a life changer! The poo does smell when you open the pail (naturally). To mitigate that, whenever I scoop the litterbox, I scoop the poo into a zippered sandwich or medium size plastic bag, put 1/3 cup of cheap cat litter onto it to soak up the smell, and throw it into the pail which is lined with a trash bag. When it’s time to empty the trash in a few days, I take out the liner bag, tie it up and toss it. Not necessary to do this, because the pail keeps the odors contained. The thing is that despite the plastic bags, the pail somehow soaks up poo odor eventually. The odor doesn’t escape from the pail, the pail is well sealed when it is closed. The odor is only noticeable when you open the pail. So you do have to give the pail a good wash every once in a while to prevent that. The charcoal filter helps too. The pail is square and nice looking, doesn’t take up a lot of space. Overall I am very happy with it.

This is the best litter pail, hands down. We have had 3 different styles of litter locker before this bucket style – and issues with each of those, like: have to use their expensive refills, can use regular garbage bags but it looks a mess, actual usable litter storage space is small, emptying the locker is a pain, difficult to clean, etc etc. But, those litter lockers were better than filling up little bags each time we scooped the boxes so we used those systems for years. But no more! This bucket is amazing. It comes with several biodegradable bags but you can clip any bag inside to hold the used litter. Changing to a fresh bag is simple, just unclip, lift the old bag out and clip a new bag in. It takes seconds. Its a bucket so its easy to clean, just wipe it out. The lid locks in place and keeps odours inside. It has a handle and is easy to carry if you want to move it. Solid construction and feels like it will last a long time. The only thing that is not as good as the more intricate litter lockers is that there is no barrier to contain the smell when you open the lid. Its an open bucket, so you get the full effect of whatever is in there. But its so good in every other way we just overlook this part.As other reviewers have said, watch the price. It seems to fluctuate between $50 – $110. It just hit $50 again and I bought a 2nd one. $50 for a bucket may seem too high but its really not. All the frustration of using our old litter lockers gone – its very much worth it.Advice from a 3 cat household: stick this litter bucket on your Wish List, watch it, and buy at $50. You won’t regret it.

L’acquisto merita.

I was thinking to myself… “Its just a bin! Is it worth the money?” But was sick of using poop bags for my housecats (we live next to the main road and we are planning to move, so they have a catio at the moment for their safety) and their various litter boxes. Even though these bags were biodegradable you still get through alot of them over the week.Anyhow the bin arrives- its very sturdy and great quality! I love that you can use whatever bags you like with it (no faffing around or buying bags designed for the product/brand only which often cost much more). You are also given a few bags to try with the order. The handle on the bin makes it very portable to sort out various litter boxes around the home. Its a good size- not too small or too big and bulky and not heavy. I also love that you can remove the inner part of the bin very easily- so limits mess. It looks neat in the cat room and no more odours- fantastic!!Highly recommended! A*

I originally purchased this when it was very pricey in Australia, and what originally drew me to it was the look, size and fact that you can use any bags with it. At the current price of $65~ AUD I would say it’s definitely worth the cost.Really happy with the unit which we store in our bathroom behind our waste bin. There’s been no detectable smell so far.My partner likes how easy it is to carry around the house to the litter trays. We have three cats who are very fussy about dirty litter, and it usually lasts a few days before needing to be emptied – we use breeders choice litter which is non-clumping. I think if you were using clumping litter with less cats you’d have to empty it much less frequently.
