Great for my senior dog
my 13yo buddy really likes it!My 13-year-old Jack Russell really likes this food. His teeth aren’t great anymore and he’s been pretty picky, but he eats this with no problem. The texture is soft enough for him, and it’s one of the few foods he actually finishes. Since switching to this, he hasn’t had those empty-stomach vomiting episodes anymore. I’m glad we found something that works for him.

This was a 5 star product until they changed the formula.
I don’t know why they changed the product from the Focus to this Essentials formula. The look and smell is definitely not as appealing as the old product. It looks more like chicken than beef, and the sauce is much lighter colored. There also seems to be more rice in the new version. Why mess with a good thing? My dog still eats it, but he ate a dead fish next to my pond a while back, so he’s not that picky.

Happy dogs, happy life
I am so thrilled that I researched and found this wet dog for my two senior dogs. My little guys are Malteses (which are notorious for dental issues) so wet food is crucial for them. I had them on Blue Buffalo’s regular Adult wet food for a while… but I noticed they were having some tummy issues (and TMI- but a lot of fat in their stools) and they were only eating when they were hungry… and not eating because they were excited about their food. So I researched about dog food needs for seniors and which companies were supposedly working with nutritionists to meet those needs. I came across Purina Pro Adult 7+ and never looked back. My two little ones are having WAY LESS tummy issues and look so excited to eat their food, which makes me really happy. For some meals, I’ll mix this wet food with the Purina Pro bite size dry food to keep their teeth a bit cleaner (since I’ve heard that’s a good practice).

Don’t Trust Amazon to deliver on time
No problem with the food – my dog loves it.The latest delivery is a day late for no particular reason and I had to go out and buy replacement food from a competitor. How can you screw up an order you’ve known for two weeks had to be delivered???

Conflicted on “new/updated” version
Older version (older look) – was great. (5 out of 5 stars). My senior dog loved it and he was doing great on it. Was using it as a mix in with dry rx food he needed. Currently he is on a wet/soft food only diet due to a cracked tooth that had to be removed.New look version – meh. Not as good. Although not started and only indicates the “look” on the label changed, i think the recipe changed.#1. Color As seen in the pictures, the color of the food is off. The version i was used to was darker (the morsels and the gravy). One picture shows a mix with a little left from prior version and then the rest from current new look. Looks almost like chicken morsels and gravy version.#2. There appears to be more rice than the prior version. So more filler?#3. Gravy is thinner, not as thick as prior version.#4. Flavor. My dog does not appear to like it as much. He’s eating it…but it does take some coaxing sometimes. The older version he’d go for right away as if a treat or he was starving for days. Now, he thinks about it a little.#5. Title/label name. I noticed they took off the “focus” part.Overall, not so sure about this “new look” version. If it stays with this version, I may end up switching to something else.If company goes back to prior version, I’ll rethink my rating and bring it up. But not as happy with this version.
