I have tried four other slip lead leashes. This is, by far, the best. The dual handles are just right and comfortable. The slip part works well. I have a dog with short legs and the reach for loose leash walking with hold on lower handle works great.Some tips.1 This leash is meant for slip lead training, walking. It needs to be fit right under jaw. The one cord lock can be set so slip cannot close too tightly on doggo throat. The other then is set so that it’s just snug enough that lead does not slide down doggo neck. It needs to stay high to work. I would not use this as a regular leash around lower throat. That part of dog, from what I read, is more vulnerable and this cord, although thick, will put a lot of pressure on lower throat on dog pulling hard. Or human pulling hard.2 From training I got with trainer, the goal is to have dog walking right beside you (not in front of you. This is not for that. I was trained to have leash to dog loose except when correcting dog who starts to pull ahead or to side or whatever. Secrete of the corrections is little tug UP not back. Back encourages dog to pull harder. Pulling up is natural correction dog will remember from parents.3 done right, dog quickly learns to walk by you with leash being very short (lower handle) but slack. If dog tightens up slack by going faster, moving ahead, moving too far to side, you give a little correction. And dog, at least my dog, gets it quickly.This leash seems very well made. Have been using it for a couple weeks now and just ordered another.

The slip lead is good quality, comfortable hand hold and I appreciate the lower hand hold. My only complaint is lead does not stay tight where you put it. The little push button clamps thing loosens up and basically renders it useless. Constantly stopping to retighten is frustrating to me and my dog. Otherwise, would have been 5 stars.

Perfect leash for training and shelter work
I recently started volunteering at an animal shelter, and this leash has been a total game changer. I love that you can preset it to a specific size and then adjust it to fit each dog snugly. It has two stoppers, which makes a big difference one lets you set how tight it can go, and the other keeps it from expanding too far.Most slip leads I’ve used only have one stopper, which means they can tighten too much and make the dog uncomfortable. This one is way more controlled and safer, especially for dogs that are still in training or that pull a bit.I even showed it to one of the trainers I work with, and they were really impressed by the design they liked the thickness of her leash also. They said they might order one for themselves and recommend it to their clients. Overall, I’m really happy with this leash it’s sturdy, well thought out, and makes handling dogs a lot easier and safer.I ordered two of them. I will definitely be buying a few more as gifts for new dog owners.

Why did you choose this product over others?:We have a labrador since she was 8 weeks old. Being the Briton’s most popular dog, she still has her downsides, apart from shedding furs like crazy, mine pulls the lead like she was on a mission.We have both this leash and a more conventional one attaching to the collar. This one clearly is more useful when controlling her.We don’t promote animals cruelty so please don’t think this leash would hurt or even harm the dog. We did a lot of research and the conclusion is, at least for larger dogs, tightening the leash or even applying a bit of pulling motion to encourage her back doesn’t hurt them, it might make them a bit uncomfortable which is the main point.We tend to keep the leash loose as much as we can, only when the dog starts makimg her own mind to either charge at another dog, or dedicate to that piece of rubbish on the side of the road, we would then pull the leash to tighten it. Once she is back, praise her for doing so.We like this leash, and also from time to time use the normal one especially when going to the common or woods, to let the dog know when she can freely roam and when she shouldn’t.I think it works. Well at least over a few months time we did see improvements. Just don’t think this simple leash could change your dogs behaviour over night. Wel maybe it could, mine didn’t though.
