Extemely pleased with the Tenrai Cat Playpen, Trapezoidal Design. I needed the playpen urgently and it arrived overnight. It was seamless to set set up and our cat immediately took to it. I am very pleased with how roomy it is – it allows room for the cat to move around and she loves to nap in it (which is a great review in itself). It’s well made, sturdy in design and easy to use zip closures. We’ve had it for several months now and have had no issues with it. It will be a great product to travel with our cat. I will note that if you plan to travel with it, you will need to take the cat out prior to picking the playpen up to move it because the floor is not a solid surface.

Strong build and easy to clean
This has been a wonderful purchase for our kitten. We needed time to introduce our adult cat & 2 dogs to her. Gives peace of mind that she is safe while we sleep or not at home. The large tent has plenty of room for a bed and feeding tray. We use the small tent side for her litter box. Lots of zipper openings to clean easily. Both tents are strong & bounce right back if the kitten jumps on top of them. These cat tents have been the best, & were so nice to have after the kitten was spayed at 6mo. and needed rest & time to heal. I highly recommend.

Great Playpen but Difficult to Collapse
I ordered this cat playpen for our 7 month old kitten that had surgery for a dislocated hip to try and keep him contained. The big plus was the separate area for the litter box. The playpen worked great for him. The netting is tough and he couldn’t jump on the sides and collapse it like he could another type playpen that we have. The litter box area was easy to use and clean when needed.I am deducting one star because of the difficulty of collapsing the playpen when we were finished using it. The instructions that I found were not really clear and the pen doesn’t collapse down as flat as what the pictures show which will make storage harder.

Best soft-sided cage for cats recovering from surgery
Best soft-sided cage I could find (& I looked at many) for a cat recovering from surgery! When my senior cat had to wear a cone & be contained for a month following a major surgery, this tent-like cage served as a cozy yet sturdy cage for his recovery. It’s so roomy that I could easily fit a bed, large stuffed animal (for comfort), & a soft bath mat in the main compartment, with plenty of room for him to sleep, eat, & even play. I couldn’t believe how roomy & sturdy it was. The smaller tent fits a full size litter box that my chonky boy had plenty of room to stand up in & scratch around in while using the box. The litter box section has a special opening for easy cleaning! There’s a short tunnel that connects the 2 compartments & it’s wide enough to accommodate a cone. While his recovery was not easy, he really seemed to feel safe & cozy in his little tent. Now that his recovery is over, he still likes to sleep in it. I guess it made him feel safe during a traumatic time. It’s sturdy (just be sure to trim their claws as they will try to scratch their way out at first, although the mesh seems very sturdy & held up well) & also very easy to assemble (2 small discs that pop open to full size tents, then you zipper them together). Other reviews comment how difficult it is to squash it back down to put away for storage…I haven’t tried this yet but it does seem like it will be harder to put away than it was to assemble. But for an emergency medical situation, the ease of assembly was more important to me than dealing with putting it away later. The zippers are very sturdy (I can’t even tell you how many times I must have opened & closed them over the last month & they never jammed). It’s overall very secure & my kitty was not able to escape (except for one time when I accidentally left one part of the main flap open when cleaning his litter box, which was my fault & not a flaw in the design). I honestly can’t recommend this cage enough. It got me & my baby safely through a very difficult time. I even sent the link to the surgeon so they can recommend to others. As for keeping clean, be proactive & put wee wee pads on the floor of both compartments before you put in the bed, blankets, litter box, food dish, etc…just for your peace of mind in case of spillage or accidents. I put pads underneath both tents as well, just for an added layer of protection. Litter will be scattered during normal use, but can be swept up or vacuumed. Great product that really did everything I needed it to do in a very challenging situation.

My cat broke a bone in her paw and needed a splint with cast (and a cone). I thought I’d try and let her roam freely around my condo since she was already miserable enough. But she wouldn’t stop jumping onto high surfaces, and I was worried she was going to further hurt herself. I bought this playpen over others because it has the separate attachment for the litter box. It’s worked great so far. My cat has calmed down a lot and will actually rest now. The playpen was easy to set up (it literally unfolded itself) and the zippers are conveniently placed for giving her new food, water, and litter. I’m confident I can fold it up for storage once I no longer need it anymore.
