Great to use after training!
Feels very sturdy but these type of leashes should really only be used after your dog has a trained recall and you are in a controlled environment. I try not to rely on the internal mechanisms unless absolutely necessary, which will prolong its use and keep my dog safe! If your dog pulls, please do them, yourself, and the world a favor and use a straight leash!

Good Quality Dog Leash
I love these, I got two in the medium size and I’ve used them everyday for my two smaller, 40-45 pound dogs. I’ve been interested in getting a retractable leash for the convenience ever since I got my first dog six years ago but I heard they’re unsafe and have been told not to get one. However, I haven’t had any issues with these. The medium size feels secure for my smaller dogs, but I can’t speak for larger dogs that pull very hard.The quality is great and I really like the brake and the lock, it makes it easier to “steer” them when they try to go the wrong way around a tree or start veering off into the road. It’s also good for training; if one starts pulling a lot or acting too wild I can shorten the lead until they stop. The 16’ length is also good, it gives them a plenty of freedom but also feels safe. I also really like the cream color, it’s simple and goes with most collars and harnesses.

Classy, chic, no more tripping
Fancy looking and sturdy! As of 3 walks! Trying to train my 5 month Boston terrier (pitbull in there for sure) pup Darla and with this leash, she’s been getting the cues to walk beside or infront of me! Which is good because we kept tripping over each other lol… not so sure about the strength of the leash ‘string’ since she nibbles on it :/ only time will tell

Excellent leash
I just adopted a miniature dachshund and we all have to walk our dogs in my 55 and older development. This is a great leash so far. It maneuvers easily and it allows my dachshund to have more room when we walk. I would highly recommend it.

Good but a bit loud for my pup
I like this leash. It’s cute and comfortable in the hands. The only issue I have is the sound. My dog is hyper aware of sounds and the sound of the leash going in and out scares her. It is a bit loud and obnoxious when they’re hyper. Overall it’s a good leash.

No rubber grip
I have purchased several TUG retractable dog leashes, however this exact model does not have any rubberized grip and it slips in the hand. When you are working multiple dogs this becomes an issue as they tug and pull. I do mot recommend purchasing this leash as the handle does not have a slip proof grip.

The first thing I noticed about the flexi leash was its weight. It is slightly heavier than other ones I’ve used. This is likely due to the retracting mechanism being stronger or bigger inside the plastic. The tension of the retracting leash is also stronger than other ones I’ve used in the past. This is useful because it provides more resistance for the training I am doing and will retract faster.The higher leash tension is useful because I use it to teach a dog to pull forward on the leash. This leash is also suitable for the average dog owner looking for a new flexi leash for walks. Despite its slightly heavier weight, it is still comfortable and well-balanced for longer walks.This flexi leash is very smooth when it retracts and the locking mechanism is easy to use without having to reach too far or fumble around.The colour of this retractable leash is not bright white. It is more like a cream off white colour. The tape of the leash itself is black. While I think all white would look nice, the black leash tape is very practical because it hides dirt. The tape on all other leashes I’ve used has always gotten dirty over time. It’s inevitable.My dog is a large sized shepherd, weighing 52lb.

Over the years, I have owned a few different retractable leashes and the quality can differ greatly. This TUG Quest Retractable Leash is one of the best-quality leashes I have ever owned. My previous leashes were retractables with cords whereas this is my first nylon tape retractable leash.The handle is comfortable to hold and the stop/lock button for controlling the leash retraction is easy to use. The lock is slightly different than any other retractable leashes I’ve had but it’s easy to use and it became second-nature within 10 minutes of using it. The leash extends 16 feet (4.9 metres) and the retracting mechanism works smoothly.I ordered the cream colour and I’m quite happy with my choice. The Medium size is good for dogs up to 55 lbs (25 kg) but, as with any retractable leash, you should never let your dog run at full-speed to the end of the leash’s full length or it will probably break either the tape or the retracting mechanism.

This TUG retractable dog leash is very comfortable to walk with and use. It’s retraction is very smooth and so far, very reliable — it does not get stuck. It feels very sturdy to use as well. At 50 lbs., our pup is on the top end of the manufacturer’s recommended maximum weight and it holds him just fine. Of course, retractable leashes need to have a brake mechanism and the one used on this leash is responsive and easy to use. Overall, a sturdy, quality leash and works well to give our pup some leash freedom at times and yet is quick to put the brakes on the action, if necessary!

This is a good quality retractable leash for any dogs or cats with a 16 feet length. If your dog is a chewer this is not the leash for you as you may require a metal leash.It has a smooth recoil and an even smoother locking mechanism. I hate when retractable leashes get stuck, this tug quest dog leash does not do that. It works very well.I like the cream colour option. It’s classy and minimalistic for those that don’t like the flashy bright colours typically sold in stores.The handle is ergonomic and easy to hold for long extended walks. The clip works well and holds onto the harness securely.This would make a good gift for a pet owner.

I’ve been using this type of leash for a few years now, and overall I’m really happy with it. This 16-foot nylon tape gives my dog plenty of room to explore, and the 360° tangle-free retraction actually works — no knots or twists so far. The one-hand brake and lock are super easy to use, and the handle feels comfortable even on longer walks.The leash itself feels sturdy and retracts smoothly every time.My only minor complaint is that the leash housing is a bit heavier than expected, and I’ll be keeping an eye on the nylon tape for fraying over time.Overall, it’s a well-designed, reliable retractable leash that gives both me and my dog more freedom on our walks. Definitely recommend for medium-sized dogs that are good on leash!
