Interesting training tool
I have 3 dogs–a 12-year-old Samoyed girl, a 2-year-old GSD rescue boy, and a 2-year-old GSD/Husky mix girl. They are NOISY. My GSD boy has a lot of anxiety. He gets startled and barks. Because he’s huge (110 pounds of poorly bred GSD) his bark is loud. My Samoyed girl has always been chatty, and as she’s gotten older, she’s gotten louder. My GSD/Husky girl isn’t much of a barker, but she’ll get involved if everyone else is barking. Plus, she and the Samoyed girl gang up on my GSD boy and bark in his face. Their barking makes working from home chaotic.We’re experienced dog owners and have been able to do a fairly good job of training our pack, but it’s hard to train barking out of anxious dogs. When I saw this gadget, I thought it would be worth a try. One of my dog trainer friends recommended a dog whistle to get their attention. This gadget seems to be similar to a dog whistle, but at varying frequencies. It also has a flashlight.It has two different frequency modes–a fixed frequency of 25kHz and a variable that varies between 15 and 30kHz.I was just on a work call, and my dogs went nuts. I turned it on the variable frequency option, gave a firm NO, then hit the button. Silence…except from my work teammates who thought I was yelling at them…because I forgot to mute myself. Oops!They started up again, so I gave a firm NO, then hit the button. Silence. They didn’t appear agitated or upset about the sound, but it definitely got their attention.After that episode, they were all three hovering around me and decided to get yappy at each other. When they do this, especially when I’m working, I find myself going to the pantry to get them a treat to shut them up. That’s not a very smart thing to do because these guys are smart and realize if they annoy me, they get treats. I decided to fight the urge to shut them up with treats and hit the button. I tried the fixed frequency with a firm NO. They stopped, looked at me, and when I told them to knock it off, they slinked away and chilled out.I’d call this a success. I’m not sure if they’ll get used to it over time and it will lose effectiveness, but it seems to at least get their attention without causing distress. I have this gadget on my desk now, to save my sanity, and now have a mental reminder to make sure I’m muted before yelling NO at a pack of barking dogs!

This Thing Really Works For Barky Dogs!
I have 2 small Yorkies that just love to bark up a storm every time somebody walks by the front door or a vehicle drives by. They don’t listen to me when I tell them to be quiet, so I decided to try this. I’m happy to say that this does actually work. I sometimes have to be right next to them for it to work, but as soon as they hear it, they both run away from the door or window and stop barking. It has a lot of functions, but I found the top button that flashes the light and sends a vibrating sound is the most effective. This is a great product and I highly recommend it for people with easily excitable barky dogs.

Exactly what we needed for Dexter the Mountain Feist!!As you can see in the video, Dexter is the definition of a Feist and has a bark for everything. He has 5 different high pitch barks for each person in the house to alert the rest of us that they are home. Then he has his Feist “marking prey” bark, that he only seems to use on me ALL OF THE TIME. Not out of aggression, but like a Town Caller, notifying the house of my movements 🤣😂. It was funny at first, then it got super annoying and so we purchased 2 different sonic devices. The hand held one is pictured next to this unit and a “Bark deterrent house.”In the video is Lexi. Lexi was true to her breed as full bred AmStaff and only used her voice for immediate threats, alerting growls & gruffs and of course the Sounds of her People, the Velvet Hippos, with her “pittie talk.” But always silently watched the neighborhood.Then came DEXTER! Who now identifies as a 90lb Yapping & Barking AmStaff and Lexi now barks atat people walking by or deliveries. The exact opposite of what my Service Animal should be doing.We purchased the smaller controller and a distance of 50’+, it worked great, often punished the other dog nearby and they got used to the sound wave. So it began to work less and less.The “sonic house” was TOO reactive/sensitive. It would emit from the electric deadbolt key pad and again effect both dogs.This slightly larger ultrasonic device is PERFECT! As you can see in the video, due to its shorter sound wave range and multiple frequencies, Dexter barked, I pressed the button and instant quiet.Since then, we have only had to use it once for Dexter and if either are barking, when they see us reaching for it or we say “getting the controller.” Instant compliance.What an absolute unit! So happy I got to order and review this product.PS if you point it across a sheet of tinfoil, you’ll hear the sound. Lesson learned and sound confirmed 😉

My house is so much quieter!
If you own a small dog, you probably dealt with barking issues. I have that, times two. While I have been dealing with it for 8 years, and it has gotten better, I still wanted it to stop! My dogs love to look out the front room window. If a person walks by, they would bark. If someone were walking their dog, my dogs would go crazy. Now, if someone is walking their dog, and my dogs start up, all I have to do is tell them quiet, and, oh my, they are quiet! If, for some reason, they continue to bark, all I do now is pick up the deterrent device, with them seeing it, they stop! My next step is taking the device with me when I take them for a walk around the neighborhood, so I can get them to stop barking when they see another dog across the street and a block away! This little device fits nicely in my hand or in my back pocket and is very easy to use. Just turn it on and push the desired level of deterrent. I have not had to use anything but the lowest level. The device is rechargable so no need to change batteries and it seems the quality is very good!

It’s okay
The lighting on the device is intermittent. Sometimes it works; the device does emit the a sound that gets the attention of the dog, however, if your dog is already sound trained it is more of a curiosity than anything. I was not impressed overall, but it was okay.
