Best for right handed people and non-reactive dogs.
All-in-all; not a bad claw grinder.What I liked:- It’s fairly quiet as a grinder goes.- I really like the feature with the moist mini-sponge as it made the smell/dust almost non-existent.- The grit seems perfect to make headway and still keep the edge smooth.Not a fan of:- I’m a lefty and the rotation only goes one way, so it’s pretty hard for me to use as it pulls the claw when I hold it in my left hand (against rotation) so I had to try and use my right hand….not as talented as my left hand ;-)Neither one of my dogs liked it – but that might have more to do with their dislike of having their paws handled & their distrust of anything they don’t know – but my dreams of having non-reactive nail-sessions has crumbled, which is not really the grinder’s fault. We’ll be happy to have it to smooth the splintered edges that happens from time to time.

This is really a nice tool to have for your grooming needs. This has 5 different speed settings to choose from. Size wise it is easy to handle while doing your dogs toe nails by yourself. It is also fairly quiet and doesn’t make too much loud noise to scare your pet.If this is the first time using a nail grinder, I would recommend for you to introduce slowly to your pet by first letting it touch his paws without it on just so it knows it will not hurt him. You should also have by now played with your dog’s pups paws so they know you will not hurt them. Start with slowest setting at a time and do a 2 or 3 toe nails and let your pup loose to release anxiety before moving on to next toe or paw. Reward with a small treat either in between toe nails or paws. Make it an enjoyable experience for both of you. But overall the quality of this grinder is fantastic, quiet, easy to handle, sturdy, multiple settings to choose from and also has a built in light you can turn on to see thru nail, so you don’t hurt your dog’s quick if they are the clear ones. If you have black toe nails, ask your vet how far you should grind them if this is your first time doing it yourself. Highly recommend this item.

Drill bit seems dull, relatively quiet, but still buzzes a bit, is more like a buffer than a file. It removes only a small bit of nail.

Great for a first timer!
As a new dog mom, I was beyond nervous to perform any kind of nail care on my (now) 3-month-old goldendoodle,,, as I’ve seen and heard some real horror stories. We have and regularly use many ‘We Love Doodles’ products, so when I saw this nail grinder and that it’s both low noise and has 5 different speed settings, I thought it’d be the perfect beginner-friendly tool to start out this journey with.For starters, I really wish the description stated that the grinder actually comes with a removable protective cover that has a small and medium cutout for trimming small and medium-sized dogs. If you take the cover off, you expose the full diamond drill bit, which you can then use on large dogs. As a rookie, this is a key feature to highlight, as my biggest fear is hurting my pup in the process. The cutouts in the cover lessen your room to work with and, thus, lessen the chances of you accidentally hurting your (super curious and therefore wiggly) puppy. It’s also key to note that you can use this tool throughout your dog’s lifespan, as it’s conducive with all sizes.Other great features: the LED light makes seeing the nail 100x easier and trimming it down to the perfect length. As mentioned, there are 5 different speed settings, so you can go as slow or fast as you/your pup are comfortable with. The device itself is a bit heavier than I expected, but is still comfortable to hold and maneuver. I also like that it comes with dust absorbent foam pads, which are effective and do lessen the overall mess.Final verdict – I really like this nail grinder and would recommend trying, especially if you’re a (nervous) first-time dog parent!

Useless
I have used multiple nail grinders and currently have 3 I use. I have multiple dogs and like having more then one so I can swap the grinder as the wheel gets hot but can keep working on my dogs nails.This one rotates opposite of every other grinder I’ve used which just throws of your rhythm if you have more then this grinder.The biggest issue, this motor is pointless. Had the device fully charged, set to the highest setting and I barely put pressure on my dogs nail and the thing slows to a stop. Tried a lower setting and it came to a stop even faster. I couldn’t even get 1 nail ground. Threw it away instantly.Do not waste your time or money on this. Plenty of other nail grinders out there that actually work.

Don’t use level 5
I don’t recommend using level five which is the only con because I feel the speed is too fast. Although this nail sander does provide a safety piece it is also detachable this nail sander comes with a LED light, which is optional to take on or off . My dogs usually don’t love strangers, touching their nails, so I love being able to sand down their nails in the comfort of my own home. This nail filer is very portable and tiny, but will definitely get the job done. The nail filer is relatively cheap although it does do be fantastic job. I do recommend wearing a face mask because it’s not the greatest smell when you sand dogs feet.

Poor instructions, and ineffective
The instruction manual that’s included does not tell you how to use this device on your pet’s nails. I had to turn to Google and YouTube for that. Upon use, I did not see any great results. It might have filed down the dog’s nails a bit but it certainly does not replace nail trimmings. I could have grinded at them for half an hour and accomplished very little. In the end I had to pull out the clippers and just go back to doing it the old way. I feel that this was a waste of money.
