Great, quality wool and sturdy – holds up to the most spirited claws and fangs! I also like how it has the adjustable string you can move as you’re playing (meaning you can add or remove slack as you’re playing)Depending on the size of your cat, it may be better suited to fully grown cats, since the size of the squid body may be a little on the big side for little kittens.

A great toy, but not sturdy enough for heavy-duty play
PROS: I love the all-natural construction. The wooden stick is quite solid and I have no worries about my kitty ingesting artificial stuff. The “string” is nice and long and the mouse a good size and weight. My cat loved to grab the mouse and try to tear out its guts with his hind legs. He is very strong and would not let go, allowing me to drag him around my hardwood floors if I pulled hard enough. He loves the balls and chases them around the kitchen where he can duck around the chair legs.CONS: My cat loved to play with this toy, but within a month, the hard pulling had the mouse separated from the “string”. We are still able to use the stick and “string” (I tied a knot on the end for weight), but he separated the mouse from the string fairly quickly. Once the mouse was separated, the felting started to loosen and the entire mouse fell apart, leaving wool fuzzy bits everywhere.We tried the Squid as well and that got pulled off even quicker than the mouse! I’m attaching a video of my cat playing with it, he definitely likes it. I just wish they held up longer with the string attached.I’ve since bought the 3-pack of mice from the same company and they are holding up much better. The balls have also held up well, so I think it’s the construction of the mouse and squid itself (with it’s long tail that is also wool) that is not designed for heavy play.

My kittens loved this toy and the wand is very durable but the squid toy didn’t last even one day! Pieces of the squid are all over the house!
