Essential oil not as hazardous to health
This insect repellent for pets and people is made of essential oils instead of DEET. So it isn’t as dangerous for humans or pets. The smell isn’t overwhelming and I love that. However, it does smell like medicine. There are warnings as with any spray to keep from your eyes and away from children and pets, so you need to be careful. This is a 2 pack set of cans, so one could be put in the Rv and one in the car for going to events.

I use this for both myself and my dog to keep those pesky mosquitoes away while we’re at the beach.

Nature’s pesticides are the only way to go!
I am a mosquito magnet. My dog is a tick magnet. We are in an area infested with Lyme disease carrying ticks, but I try to avoid putting the inorganic pesticides on my dog until full summer when the fleas are out. Unfortunately, the ticks seem to wake up as soon as the temperature hits 50 so that’s a full 3 months where he still needs protection. Well ticks absolutely hate this stuff! I used to make my own insect repellant with Rose Geranium (citronellol /geraniol) and Lemongrass oil but it always evaporated too quickly and required frequent applications. The Thyme oil in this seems to make it persist longer. While it totally reminds me of basting a chicken LOL!, I do love the smell. It might not be for everyone but I’m putting it on my dog’s collar to see how he likes it. So far so good. It’s completely non-toxic, non-irritating and both thyme and geraniol have benefits to the skin as they have natural anti-inflammatory and anti-septic properties. We need more manufacturers to make products like these that don’t harm us or the environment. I highly recommend.

Better price point natural repellent than main product
I’ve used the Natrapel brand repellent before and their main product seems to have gone up in price, so I thought I’d try out this essential oil repellent. The set comes with 2 bottles and I did receive 2, where other reviewers might have only gotten one. (Now there’s a huge green sticker on the plastic bag telling warehouse workers not to split up the bottles)It’s a pump spray and not aerosol and I think that works better to not go through the liquid as quickly. It’s easy to spray on then spread across my skin with my hands. The smell is there but it’s not strong at all, smells mostly like thyme, and quite different from the Natrapel picaridin based repellent. I strongly prefer natural repellent over DEET because of the smell and chemicals used.I haven’t encountered as much mosquitoes yet in the season, but from walking around and using this repellent, it is doing an ok job against mosquitoes. I haven’t gone hiking yet so I can’t say for other biting insects.Sometimes repellent works differently on different people, but for the price point I would say try this repellent and see how it works.

WORKS WELL, BUT…
I tried this on our 8lb chihuahua and found it to quite effective. The pump gives a good amount of product and although the odor is very strong it does dissipate after approx 30 min. I did notice an extreme loss of tics. I also waited two days after he was bathed. But however great this item is, I can’t give it five stars. The description reads two bottles and as far as the reviews go, and even while writing this review, buyers will only receive one. I received this item free through Amazon Vine – I really like this for our pets, but due to the misleading description I could only give this 3 stars.

Very good
Very good insects repellent. We used it on our camping trip inside our RV and we didn’t saw more than just one mosquito. We have a cat and he wasn’t bothered by the smell and he didn’t get any fleas. It has a nice natural fragrance and isn’t too strong. Of course we use a small amount on each corner of the RV and in the bathroom.

Only got one, not two
I only got 1 spray bottle, not 2. It smells pleasant and seems to work. The flies are just starting to come out, and they were not going for the dogs, so it works.
