Our Samoyed Loves Them, Eats Them Like Treats, Clean Ingredients, Green Lipped Mussel is the Star
We have an 11 year old Samoyed who has torn both cruciate ligaments in the past 5 years. They have both healed well with braces and she wears double braces when we walk her in the park for support as those legs shake when she gets tired, but her exercise is really important to stay healthy so we try to support her in every way we can and her supplements are a big part of that at her age.She has taken hip and joint supplements for several years and only those with a significant portion of Green Lipped Mussel (GLM} really help her. We’ve tried the straight GLM powder in her food as she is supposed to take 1200 mg each day, but its so fishy smelling, ugh, she won’t touch it.We’ve used several different types of hip and joint chews but none have therapeutic amounts. She is unable to take canine NSAIDS like Carprofen (ibuprofen for dogs) for the inflammation and pain as she is allergic to it. It causes a pretty quick shedding of her beautiful white coat, so the only relief she can get is the natural way through clean supplements.I saw this Hip & Joint supplement and that it was very clean and contained all the supportive elements a good Hip and Joint blend should have. I read some of the positive reviews and thought we should try it even though I normally only order supplements that are GMP Certified and 3rd party lab tested and these are not, but the front label did say Made in the USA, so they need to adhere to GMP practices even if they are not certified. I did research Natureflow Pets and most of their products are made in Germany, but they have a manufacturing facility in the U.S. specifically for Hip & Joint products so that is good to know.I was a bit frustrated with the labeling of the supplement as it doesn’t list the mg of each element. When I read the jar, it said that the supplement contained 20% Green Lipped Mussel. The entire bottle of 100 is 150 grams, so each tablet is 1.5 grams, so 20% of 1.5 grams is 300 mg. But in the listing, it says that each table is 200 mg Green Lipped Muscle so I’m not sure how the percentage of GLM per tablet was calculated. In any case, we will need to give our fluffy dog more than 1 tablet per day based on her Vet recommendation, so we will start with one a day for a week, graduate to 2 etc. and monitor her progress.She is normally suspicious of pill bottles when she sees them as she gets sometimes gets additional supplements in her food or anti-anxiety meds when fireworks or thunderstorms are on the horizon, but she was curious when I sat down next to her. I let her smell the open jar and she poked her nose into it which was a good sign. I took one out and put it in my palm and she hardly paused to sniff it – down it went and she poked her nose in the jar hoping for another. After a few days taking them, she has had no digestive upset, so we will graduate her to two treats next week.I am very hopeful this product will help decrease her stiffness and arthritis pain and make her walks more enjoyable. We will work through the jar and come back for an update. Even though the product is not certified, as they are subject to GMP practice regulations in the US and it is such a clean supplement, I give them 4.5 stars. I can’t actually rate it using a half star, but if I could I would deduct .5 for the lack of having a proper ingredient label to easily see the included ingredients. Otherwise, great formula and she likes them.

Very hard & difficult to cut for smaller dogs
This hip and joint vitamin has helped my dog who tore a muscle while running from lightning. She no longer walks like she is in pain. I’m giving 3-stars because she does not like them (I had 2 force down throat). When I mixed with dog food she would eat everything in pan and somehow managed to leave the pill. Last week I started her on Glucosamine chews for hip and joints. She loves them and they obviously taste great! I also feel like the chews are better value.

Integratore fantastico! Il mio cane aveva dei dolori che non riuscivo a capire e dopo varie visite dal veterinario, analisi, lastre etc ho comprato questo integratore. Dopo che abbiamo finito gli antinfiammatori, stavo col ansia che li ritorneranno i dolori, ma non sono più tornati. Ho cominciato a darglielo in concomitanza con li antinfiammatori, quindi non so dire di preciso quanto tempo hanno messo per fare effetto, comunque non più di una settimana. Lo sta prendendo da 3 mesi adesso,e credo che continuerò a darglielo. Anche il prezzo e più che onesto, per il mio cane che pesa 8 kg, un barattolo basta per 5 mesi. Spero che tornerà disponibile a breve , perché lo acquisterò sicuramente di nuovo. Ho visto che lo hanno sostituito con un altro prodotto, ma non credo sia uguale

I bought these for the added pain relief of Devil’s Claw. Be aware that this can upset appetite in some cases (did in my greyhound with her sensitive tummy), otherwise a great combination.
