I purchased 3 of these for my 3 small to medium sized cats back at the end of October 2016, As of the writing of this review 1 of them recently lost the white disk attached to the back while the other 2 so far are doing fine. Many on here would consider this a negative however, please this is my experience.The customer service for the company that makes and sells these tags is probably one of the BEST that I’ve come across in a long time. I emailed them with my concern a couple days ago to which I received a prompt response as soon as they got in that morning. As of the writing of this review the company has gone above and beyond in my opinion to make-it-right by replacing the original tag as well as providing one of there other tags as compensation for my inconvenience. This everybody is how a company should react when something goes wrong and I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation.To review this productYou will receive a metal tag made of nickel with a plastic white disk in the back that has the Q-Code on it as well as the info on how to activate your pets profile. This tag is similar to a microchip but for the fact it’s attached to the pets collar and not injected under their skin. I would recommend using both to have a dual layer of protection since tags can be removed and only by a chip can you prove ownership. The advantage of the tag though is that anybody can scan the Q-Code using their cell phone while a chip requires a trip to the vet to read which someone might or might not do. Please keep in mind that you have to create the profile and then activate the tag so both steps must be taken to ensure the code will work after scanning. Yes I’ve tested all of mine to ensure they all work.The web site profile is basic. However I personally likes that I can see other pets around and follow them as well as they can follow my pets. Kinda reminded me of a basic facebook for your pets. You get to have total freedom by putting whatever pictures you wish without or without comments as to what it is and all the pictures are posted on the community “board” for everybody to see.This tag will not “track” your pet and that is NOT what it says it will do. This tag will provide the location information of the tag when it’s scanned by someone allowing you to determine where your pet could possibly be or their general location. If your looking for something that will “track” as is provide your animals location to you upon request then you need to look for a GPS system and believe me those a LOT more expensive then tags or microchips.Pros:EXCELLENT Customer Service from Pet Dwelling1 YEAR WARRANTY for date of purchasePrice: I thought the price was more then fair just remember it’s for a pet not other uses.Lightweight but heavy duty constructionContact information is private unless scanned, prevents just anybody from knowing your contact information and locationEditable, If you move, no problem, just update the information on your website profileCustomizable, this applies to the web profile you have the ability to put as much or as little information as you wish it’s totally under your controlCons:Lets face it 1 of mine did break after a little over a months use. However if this occurs after the warranty I bet a little bit of Super Glue would fix it if you’ve found the white disk that is.Overall I’m completely satisfied with my purchase specially after my recent experience with Customer Service and would recommend this item to anybody looking for something of this nature. I do recommend it for pets though not for other uses. There are different tags for other things medical, reason is because whatever you post on your pets profile is public on the community page.

The front is a nice red enamel
Hi, we received our tag today. Its larger than expected, and it is high quality. The front is a nice red enamel. The back with the QR image is black and white and looks laminated. The registration process was easy and took minutes. You can activate the tag either with your computer or phone. I used the computer. Then, I tested the tag’s GPS capabilities. I scanned it with the iOS app called “QR Scanner” (its free on the Apple app store). Within a second the app took me DIRECTLY to Pepe (our dog)’s profile on petdwelling.com. I repeated this multiple times as you see in my screen shot. You scan the tag with a good scanning app (don’t complain if you don’t know what a good QR scanning app is or how to use one) and was taken IMMEDIATELY to Pepe’s profile. Therefore Pepe’s rescuer would find my contact info. You are also asked for your location when you scan the tag with your iOS app. This is a nice feature, for example if someone found Pepe and scanned the tag, their QR scanner would ask for their location and email it to me. This would allow me to run to wherever Pepe is and try to recover him. I have posted here a copy of 1 of the 2 email notifications I just received that Pepe’s tag had been scanned. I AM USING THE LATEST VERSION OF IOS ON IPHONE 6S.

Es una placa hermosa, con una excelente idea para el rastreo de la mascota. Muchos se quejan del gps, pero este depende que la persona que escanea permita el acceso al gps, por lo que llega a fallar.Se la compré a mi gata de cumpleaños.

Exactly as advertised. Setup was easy, use the code on the tag to create an account and set up your pet details. When scanned you get an email right away. If the scanner allows location data then you will see exactly where they are when scanning.
