Worth the upgrade from the wired version
I have been a pet safe user for many years. When we moved into our new house in 2021 we explored fence options and went with the wired version of the pet safe fence. It was a pain in the butt to set up and took quite a while, and we had to buy a ditch witch in order to bury the wire and had to wait for the city to come mark the land before digging, but once it was set up, it was fine and it has worked relatively well over the years. However, in the last few months to a year we’ve had several breaks in the Line, And we were finding ourselves constantly having to fix the wires. This last time was the last straw so we upgraded to this one.I will say that the technology has significantly improved in the last five years. When we looked before there was not a version like this where you could easily manually draw your yard. The products that were similar were in the form of a central point with a circle fence, and would not work for our square yard. We did not want to have to limit our pets space or risk them going into our neighbors space.I set this up in 15 to 20 minutes, and put the collars on and my dogs are ready to go. The longest part was just waiting for the product to update the firmware. Now my dogs are already trained for underground fence so we didn’t have to go through that whole process again. I do recommend people take the time to go through that process. You’ll be happier than just hoping your dog figures it out. When I first started using underground fence products in the early 2000s I did not go through the process and my dogs would run past the shock once they figured it out. Taking my time and taking the full recommended several weeks of months to ensure they are trained is 100% worth it. I have two coonhound/hunting breed dogs and they do not cross the line to chase after anything including Deers, rabbits and turkeys that are frequently in our property.This product is very high-quality in appearance and definitely worth the money. The collar is lighter weight than previous.My only feedback would be that a better battery life for the collar would be appreciated. My previous dog fence collar had well over a month of charge. This one says it’s only about three days which will be an adjustment.

To reiterate – MOST other reviews – including those on the Petsafe website are paid reviews. This one is not, and is a real life review of this product.We received it and immediately set up the boundaries. That was easy. We did notice that our dog would get false boundary alerts around large metal objects (such as a vehicle). We thought it was going to work out well for us.Then precisely 24 hours later we started having problems. The main unit disconnected from our WIFI, rendering the collar useless. Every other wifi enabled device in the house was working fine. I reconnected it to our wifi, scratching my head as to why it randomly forgot our wifi settings. Once that was completed the collar just continuously flashes yellow, indicating it is disconnected from the main unit. This system is not ready for prime time – it’s a prototype at best. Keep looking. Already set up my Amazon return. We will likely get the halo system.

Works Great for Us!
I was honestly skeptical about a “wireless” fence, but this thing has been amazing. Setup took maybe an hour tops — no digging, no wires – just walk the boundary and the app does the rest. The GPS accuracy is surprisingly solid, even around some trees in my yard. My dog picked up on the warning tone within a day, and I haven’t had to worry about him wandering off since. The collar feels durable, battery lasts several days between charges, and it’s totally waterproof (my pup even fought the sprinkler!). Love that there’s no monthly subscription, unlike some other brands I looked at. Overall, totally worth the money – peace of mind and freedom for my pup!

Good
This has really helped us start training our husky so we don’t have to worry about opening the front door and him taking off. It was easy to get set up and set the boundaries we needed. He seems to follow the the controls easy enough but did have to turn it higher to make him stop going past boundaries. It’s been a good start and hoping it’ll completely stop the run away husky.

The absolute best gps collar fence in its class!
Before I begin, I’d like to mention that I am a happy owner/user of the older version of this collar and it has been great in all aspects. This new redesigned version is even better. My house has an open backyard but also a relatively busy road nearby and this is one of the most important reason I use this collar.First of all, it looks and feels like an expensive high-quality device right now, I believe that the material it is made of has been changed and it is a positive change. Also, it is noticeably lighter than the old generation and I feel like smaller dogs will appreciate it. In addition, I have been actively using it for nearly 6 days so far and still have a charge which is much longer than the old generation could last.It is still good for medium to very large dog breeds and does what it is designed for effectively (you can easily adjust the collar circumference for your pet) . The fence precision is astonishing and works without gaps or lags (at least I did not notice a single one so far). The app is very intuitive and even not a savvy person will easily figure it out. Also, once I had to contact the support and received a very quick response, fully addressing my question.Lastly, I’d like to mention that PetSafe is now a well-known brand that sells in many retailers in-store. That said, it is indeed a quality and safe product. I am a fully satisfied loyal customer. Thank you!!
