Works Well And Pleasant Scent
I like the scent of this better than the Dawn gentle dish soap I had been using when doing a bath to my cat. My cat also likes the smell as he reached for it before the first time I put it on him so he could smell it from the pour spout first and gave me his look of approval. Since he is the one who has to lick himself all the time, I’m glad he likes the smell. Also the ingredients are a combination of natural oils which not only kill any fleas that are on him but it’s advertised to also keep fleas away from him. While I’ve noticed he still attracts some fleas, it does seem to be quite a bit less than when I did baths to him with the Dawn soap. This shampoo does lather up for him after I soak all his fur first with very warm water. There is no irritation or negative effects of this shampoo. I just have to make sure that I wet him with fairly warm/hot water as the shampoo has to sit on him for 10 minutes to make sure it kills the fleas before I wash him off. When he’s wet he can get shivers so keeping him warm as long as possible is best for his comfort during this process if he’s standing not submerged in his little bathtub. Given the success of this product I’m going to look at other Wondercide natural flea treatments for my cat. The bottle has enough product to give my cat many many baths before I need to reorder.

I have learned. And whenever I need to get something like a pesticide, I try to research and find something not manufactured in a lab, if you get my drift. So I ordered the Wondercide Flea and Tick Shampoo to check it out.It advertises that it kills fleas and repels ticks. Regarding the fleas: it also additionally kills the flea eggs; and that is very good. It does kill the fleas currently residing on your pet; but the protection is only good for 24 hours. It does repel ticks, and given the ingredients, I can understand why.Active ingredients are sodium lauryl sulfate, cedarwood oil, and rosemary oil. That’s it. The rest of the ingredients are water, glycerin,, vitamin E and xanthan gum. All harmless. I looked up the sulfate compound; and it is commonly use in our own shampoos; it causes foaming.They do warn about irritation, or the development of allergies over prolonged use; I can certainly understand that, as both oils can be irritating. However, most dogs/cats can tolerate it occasionally.The one direction I see as a potential problem is “leave on for 10 minutes”. Not done easily on my dog.It appears, according to the label, that this shampoo is most effective used as an initial treatment; then followed up with a collar or their Spot On. So I wouldn’t think of this as a standard weekly treatment.Since I just got this, I am not sure how effective it is; and I have to wait for warmer weather to test. If it does NOT deliver, I will back to update this review. The reason I gave it four stars is because I am not able to complete testing at this time, but the use of natural ingredients is something I like.

I’ve heard many things about your typical flea & tick stuff – causing issues for dogs, is unsafe, etc. I’ve used Wondercide topical spray & other products for years, and was so excited to see this shampoo! My pup has long hair and she easily picks up ticks, so looking to layer this shampoo with other products. The smell is nice, and not too strong – but strong enough for the bugs. The bottle is a good size and should has a few washes! I love that this shampoo doesn’t have a bunch of extra chemicals—especially since my dog is already sensitive. The scent is pretty strong right after a bath, but it fades quickly, which I really like. I can use it weekly without it bothering my dog or making them feel sick. The bottle is also a great size, so it’ll last a while. Clean ingredients, a nice smell, and a healthier option overall—totally worth it.

My Honest Take on Wondercide Rosemary Flea & Tick Shampoo
As a wildlife rehabber who has been rescuing and caring for everything from sugar gliders and squirrels to raccoons, cats, and dogs for 25 years, I’ve seen just about every pet product on the market. Living on four acres along the St. Johns River in Florida, I am constantly in the trenches with fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes, so I need products that actually deliver. I recently tested the 12oz Rosemary-scented Wondercide shampoo on my adult cat and my two small dogs, and while I appreciate the plant-powered mission, it didn’t quite hit the mark for our environment.I followed the directions perfectly, even letting the shampoo sit for a full ten minutes to give it the best chance to work. The first thing I noticed was the scent—the rosemary is light and pleasant, which is a nice change from the heavy chemical odors you find in other brands. It was gentle on their skin and the lather was good, but the “kill rate” just wasn’t there. It only seemed to kill about 50% of the fleas on contact, while the others were just slowed down. By the following day, I was still seeing active flea movement on all three of my animals.Ultimately, while this isn’t a terrible product, it just isn’t strong enough for a high-activity area like ours. For the price, I expected a more complete knockdown of the pests. If you live in a low-flea area or just want something very mild, this might work for you, but for a professional-level infestation or living in the deep South, there are better breed-specific options available that offer a much more effective result. It’s a gentle choice, but it just couldn’t handle the Florida “river life” pressure!
