I beta-tested this pet fountain with my two cats. The Brook Glass Pet Fountain is the best fountain I have ever purchased. Other fountains I have had were either made of components which released forever chemicals into the water, were too small, too noisy, too hard to clean or some combination thereof. I especially like that the bowl is made of glass because glass helps me limit the amount of forever chemicals my cats ingest. For that reason, among others, glass is safer for my cats. Plus, it is easier to see when the water is low or needs changing. The filtering is impressive and the pump is very quiet. Two very mild negatives: There is a blue light on the filter which lights the bowl from the bottom and which cannot be turned off. Also, the rate of filtering was a bit much at first and the reason, I believe, that it took my cats a couple of days to get used to the fountain. Apparently the company is going to work on adding a way to turn off the light as well as provide a switch so that two filtering rates (fast vs slow) are available. Setup and maintenance were clear from the instructions shipped with the unit and I did not bother to watch the “Setup and Care” video on the company’s website until recently (the video is superb, btw). As mentioned, it took two or three days for my two indoor cats to get used to the fountain. Now they drink almost exclusively from the fountain rather than from a second bowl of water I keep in a different location. I have one male and one female and I am pleased to see that both cats seem to be drinking more water now that they have the glass pet fountain available. The bowl itself is heavier than you might expect and is about 0.25 inches/6mil thick. Cleaning the fountain is extremely easy. I add filtered water to it every couple of days to maintain the water level about an inch below the rim. Once a week I wash the glass dome (aka the “fountainhead”),the glass bowl, and the glass tube with hot water and gentle, unscented dish soap (being sure to rinse the glass several times to eliminate as much soap residue as possible). I rinse the pump with hot water as well. I also quickly rinse charcoal pouch and the particle filter ring (which need to be replaced every two weeks and four weeks, respectively). Once a month you need to pop the back off of the pump, remove and clean the propeller as well as the area exposed when you popped off the plastic casing. The online video shows how simple cleaning the pump is. As mentioned, the charcoal pouches and the particle filter ring are the only things you have to replace on a regular basis. I wish I knew how long the pump is expected to last and where a replacement can be purchased (At the time of this review no option existed on the company’s website to order a replacement pump should one be needed). Fortunately, the pump does not appear to be complicated (and thus expensive to replace). Instead, the design is a common one and I anticipate it lasting at least a couple of years. I am impressed with how well-built the Brook Glass Pet Fountain is. More important, my cats clearly prefer it.

Hands down, this is the best cat fountain we’ve ever had! We recommend it to everyone we know. It’s quiet, beautiful, sturdy, well-designed, and easy to clean. We have three cats and ALL of them use it. I came across the Brook fountain when I was looking for an alternative to our plastic fountain (our vet told us that plastic could be to blame for the chin acne or older kitty, Misty, was experiencing). The cats weren’t thrilled with stainless steel, so we gave the glass Brook fountain a try. It’s fantastic! It’s beautiful so you don’t have to hide it. The noise level, water filtration, and flow is excellent. I love being able to place the bubbler anywhere in the bowl. I position it slightly off center so our big boy, Woody (he’s 20 lbs) can drink from the bowl as well as lick from the top bubbler. It’s a breeze to clean, too. I have to move fast because Misty hates it when her fountain isn’t where it’s supposed to be. The fountain arrived well packed and the set-up and maintenance instructions were clear and easy to follow. Bonus points for a superior product presented in a superior way! We’ve had it for seven months now and love it. Brook customer service is top notch, too. The clip that attaches the cord to the bowl snapped and I contacted the company to purchase a new one and they are sending it free of charge. They clearly stand behind their product, a rarity these days. Woody, Emmy, and Misty give the Brook fountain a five-paw review!

The quality of the fountain is amazing! It is really easy to clean / set up and the pump is silent. The customer service from the compagny is on top!

I bought this and it is expensive but the animals love it. it does not quite spray the water the way it shows on the advertisement. I would recommend
