I bought this primarily for hiking with my lab, but not for walks around the block and not for running.I can see the hands-free design working great on open trails. I like that there’s a handle near the clasp (down by the collar), so you can quickly grab your pup if needed. You know when that cat or squirrel pops out! That extra handle can help if you can get there quick enough.There’s also a built-in stretch section, which absorbs pulls a bit but can feel unpredictable in close spaces. On trails, though, it gives just enough flexibility to keep walks comfortable. It could use a better primary handle and plastic clips cause me safety issues as they could fail or break with enough stress.My Life Saver Rating: Rescue Ready – 4 StarsThis is a good leash for open trail hiking. The waist design works best in open spaces, not crowded areas, but it’s a solid option for outdoor adventures.

Could improve on some features
This is a wonderful leash that is well made and allows me to be hands free while walking with my dog. I really love that aspect! The webbing , buckles and latches are of good quality. There are places were there is some reinforcing which creates handles to grab (before and after the bungee). Refer to first picture which I attempt to show the handles. I hook the leash to my dogs harness and it is secure and even when she is pulling I still feel in control. Our dog is muscular around 40 lbs. The buckle around the waist is adjustable and will fit anyone.I was not a fan of several features:The latch/clip part that attaches to the dogs collar or harness comes with a safety lock which you push up. This safety lock does not screw to lock it closed. The safety lock in my opinion could potentially slip? It is on there snuggly but a better design is to have it screw shut so the latch will definitely not open. However, it does seem secure on our first walk and it did not slip. Picture 2 and 3.The leash also has a buckle for strapping the dog into the car. It is located about 1/2 or more down the leash. It seemed like a nice feature but when our dog walks closer to me (I require her to when I jog), the leash dangles and so does the metal car seat piece. For me, that metal piece dangles about 3-4 inches off the ground right around my ankle bone! Just not a fan of having something hanging and getting caught especially if I am trail running. It also hits me or the dog when she is at my side. It doesn’t hurt (it’s a tap) but it does swing and I don’t like the design. Picture 4Lastly I would prefer a continuous leash. This leash creates an additional fail point at the o ring which I guess was the best design to incorporate the seat clip that I do not like. Picture 4Overall this leash is well priced for what you get and is working out well. I may need to figure out how to remove the car seat latch. If your dog is constantly pulling on the leash, your fatter then me or taller perhaps you will not have an issue with the car seat latch. I am petite and small framed (so not much around my waist and therefore the leash is longer), 5′ 4″ tall.

Ich nutze die Leine über die Schulter und kann meinen mittelgroßen schon älteren Hund (10 kg) gut unter Kontrolle halten. Für mich ideal.Lediglich der Karabinerhaken ist einhändig schwer auszuhaken, da der Halsbandring in der Kühle des Hakens regelmäßig hängen bleibt.
